  • Idle problem in Yamaha Gladiator

    I own a Yamaha Gladiator SS 2011 model and I am facing problem with idle since a week , when my bike was new it used to idle on 1250 rpm on engine start up since a week i found some difference on my bike idle was not stable on cold when i ride my bike suddenly it changes to 3000 rpm after engine getting warm up . last day i had a talk over with my mechanic and he was having doubt on my Carb so we opened it cleaned only main jet and pilot jet after 30 min of carb cleaning i started riding bike again problem was like same no difference again came to mechanic he removed choke wire & throttle wire and started engine after 10 min to check what was problem
    he found idling was rising after engine starts heating up low . started thinking and said to come tomorrow because it was 9:40 p.m so he cannot work on

    Things about my bike that might help expert to diagnosis problem:

    Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      @Aditya N Bharadwaj I remember you were having a similar problem, I guess the last time or so when I had been to Service Station with you, may be you can put your advice here about what exactly that problem was. . .

      Cheers!!!

        Opening up the carb for RPM fluctuation was not needed at all. Then again removing the cables . Hope you had a nice ride with the mech.

        While you wait for suggestions from Aditya, I recommend the following;

        * get your battery checked. Sometimes the RPM reading itself could be at fault,
        * check the AFR of your bike. Please clean the air filter and spark plugs before tuning the AFR,
        * set bike's idle RPM when the engine is warm to 1200 RPM.

        Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
        A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
