  • Issues in my Pulsar 200 NS

I have few issues in new Pulsar 200 NS, which i got 1 yr back and reads 9800 Kms. I gave bike to BAJAJ service center, but they did poor service.

    1) When I try to move the vehicle from stop, it is getting OFF. I need to throttle little bit and move. I dont know what is the problem.

    2) Noise is little high than the before. Its increasing day by day. I can't able to accelerate with solid torque.

    3) Acceleration has vast difference when driving single and with pinion. So much difference. That time I feel like 100 cc bike.

Did anyone got the same problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    Gunasekaran

    Topic Approved.

    1. Could this be due to low idle rpm? Tell the service persons to increase rpm to around 1400, when the vehicle is hot after a ride or so.

    2. Try spotting the source of the noise. What kind of noise is it? Is it noise from the intake, around carburetor, like a vaccum howl?
Is it noise from a leak in the silencer/ exhaust pipe?
Or is it metallic friction sound from within the engine? Try spotting the noise, where it comes from...

Also check your oil levels through the crankcase window.

I really think they screwed up with your carburetor, or maybe the exhaust got damaged. But can't confirm without seeing the vehicle.... Only you can see the vehicle, so can you spot anything different? Any dent? Any damage? Can you post its pic here?

Re: Issues in my Pulsar 200 NS

99% of the time it's the improperly set up carburetor, I guess the bike is running lean and idle RPM is set low. Also check tappets, if you are getting the tick tick sound (the sound of sewing machine) tappets need adjustment.

Learn to tune carbs yourself, it's very easy.

CHECK YOUR AFR SETTING,TUNE IT TO MORE RICHER,ALSO SETTLE YOUR IDLING RPM TO 1.4

NS IS A LOW TORQUE BIKE UNDER SPEEDS OF 40,AFTER THAT ITS VROOOOOMMM,

As you said 99% badly tuned carb. I would like to add, rest 1% could be clutch plates going bad..

Also, check the carb diaphragm. It might have gone bad.

Bingo my friend . You seem to be facing the same kind of problems that I had to after my first service.
Vibrations, low torque acceleration and engine switching off are all due the tge carb tuning or more specifically your engine running lean.
If bajaj svc guys cant help, find a good mechanic, ask him to remove the carburetor (its easy, so any experienced mechanic can do this) and make sure u make him inspect it throughly. Then after refitting ask him to tune the carb via afr screw.the ns has a big carb jet so any problems with tuning creates even bigger problems in the bikem

If the carb and air filter is clean enough, then go ahead and set the idle RPM to 1200 RPM when the engine is warm.

Either the chain slackness is inappropriate or the brake pads are rubbing against the disks. Put the bike in main stand and check both the wheels for free rotation. If it exhibits resistance, service the brakes completely.

Re: Issues in my Pulsar 200 NS

Noise is like metallic friction. I gave bike to service. Now the noise is reduced, but not fully.

Is there any tutorial for adjusting AFR setting?

One more problem after giving service is, my mileage reduced from 38 to 32. Is there any problem with carb?

Might be.you have to locate the afr screw.hope the pic helps. And anti clockwise rotation makes mixture rich and clockwise lean.(in thempic its displayed wrong)

                          Hi guys,
It has been 7 months since I bought my 200ns. Not many problems till date but some problems are starting to emerge. There is very strange noise coming from the chain.. Like a its rubbing on something n the sound keeps coming like after intervals. What might be the problem? The sound is just ruining my whole riding experience. N also the bike seems to be leaning a bit to the right.. Is this a balancing issue? One more thing I wanna ask is that I have clocked exactly 8500k on my bike, would it be fiesable to use motul 7100 20w50fs instead of the lame excuse of oil they give in the showroom? I still have one free service left plz tell me what to do.??
