  • Accident: Scratch Removal

    Hi

I met with a minor accident recently while returning home from work. Was traveling around 60kmph when a dog suddenly came in front. I lost balance on hitting it and me and the bike fell on the right side grinding for 10 - 15 mtrs on the road. Miraculously there are only 2 scratches on the bike (See attached pics). I would like to know whether the Leg guard still offers me the same level of protection after getting damaged or should I get it replaced (Cost 700 bucks). Another query which I have is that will the damage to the exhaust cover lead to furthur problems with the exhaust system in the future? If yes then I would get it replaced too (Cost 300 bucks).

I look for guidance from the expert xbhpians out here !

    Thanks in advance !!!

Leg guard replacement is highly recommended. If you try to repair the existing one it may aesthetically look like "back to shape" but strength point of view it cannot behave as earlier. Don't take risk for 700 INR.
Exhaust cover replacement is optional. But considering the cost you can go for a new one.

Yes replace the leg guard. Restoration will not hold good.
While the exhaust cover can be repainted. A professional can charge around 100 for painting to original look. Or add 200 more to buy new. Choice is yours.

In this case 200ns is the cheapest of all, its leg guard costs 110 bucks only, even cheaper than a splendor or passion, and yeah it works, (sadly tested by me at speeds of 80km/hr and then sliding on the road for 5-10m, and didn't had single scratch on my right leg.
