Re: Need helping sort out top end speed on my pulsar 150
Here are today's updates.. I have tried riding with my friend's pulsar side by side. So there is no speedo error. Till 80kmph we are side by side. after that he took over. my crap bike still on 80 and struggling.. His pulsar reaches 80 kmph at around 6000-6300 rpm, and mine is at around 6500-6800 rpm. And mine is stuck there and not going above that. when bike is in neutral and if we give throttle it goes till 6800 rpm and stops there. if I open full throttle also sound only changing. Then we went to one mechanic. he said need to do a rebore and put custom pistons. Please suggest on this. One more thing today did was put back the original doom with Philips extreme vision 60/55 watt bulb. I was running with amby seal with 100/90. out put is very less on 60/55. Need to put back the 100/90 back to original doom. I think the firing will melt if I put the 100/90. Changed all the console bulb to blue smd led once. break light also changed to led. Could any one please suggest a good after market silencer for pulsar..Originally posted by muztariq View PostHX7 is Car oil. AX7 is bike oil. You may have got confused between the letters, but if you are using HX7, clutch slipping is very much possible.
If your friend has the same bike.. try riding side by side with him. Speedo errors are quite famous with Pulsars. 120/80 would reduce top end in comparison to 100/90.

forgot to mention one thing. now carb tuning still left out.. Don't have a good mechanic who can do it. all local mechanics are unaware of tuning, they just turn the carb screws clock wise and anti clockwise. now my need is higher end power. lower end power is there. pickup is good.. only after 80kmph.. do i need to changed the nozzle size or something. but what is worring is there if the carb setting is wrong bike shouldn't give lower end power also rite.. i am planning to book a new thunderbird 350. but don't want to sale my old 8 year old buddy.. just want to make it perfect. In my Skoda i did ecu remapping.. 105 bhp to 140 bhp and 320 nm torque..when i go native i used to take it to 205kmph.. continuously.. but in pulsar we don't have ecu to remap.. i think in new Thunderbird 500 we have ecu.. so there also a confusion whether to go with 350 carb version or 500 ecu version.. i heard some where people did ecu remapping for en-field classic 500. here also i am expecting your suggetions
Cheers,
Sam

I think your engine is running lean and need a proper tuning. For best performance from your bike with longer engine life stick to factory settings. After market exhaust won't do any good to your bikes performance other than some loud noise. Go to Bajaj service center for a proper servicing. I was pissed off with the service of Bajaj and left servicing there after my second free service, resulting in making me suffer with my bike. I have found a better servicing center and now my bike is breathing better and giving me a proper mileage with quiet a performance.Originally posted by mbsam2003 View PostEngine idles at 700-800 rpm

Re: Need helping sort out top end speed on my pulsar 150
Today one more crap thing happened to my bike. when i power off the bike the RPM meter automatically goes to 3000 RPM. when the ignition is on it is coming to zero again.. took to bajaj S.S, they tried everything but no result. finally replaced the RPM meter.. And changed the bulb to 100/90.Just now coming to office i was on low beam. once i reached office i just checked my reflector. The top part just became black.now while going back i need to be in high only.. tomorrow will change it back to 60/55 again.. i was good with 100/90 on amby seal..
Regarding the speed i enquired in bajaj S.S today again. They said might be the pick-up coil having some issues.. am not sure about that.. I did a coil rewinding for higher wattage bulb. Carb tuning planned for this Saturday.. searching for a good mechanic in Bangalore who can do this

Got this comment from Above posted link. Mine is a new carb. Just one month old. In new carb also will there be any problem with diaphragm and carb slider. Even my case also i can't redline in top gear. Mine stucks at 7k RPM. after that if i give full throttle also no use.. As mentioned in the above topic need to try re-bore and change the piston. before that i need to try tuning the carb once. If anybody know a good mechanic in Bangalore please let me knowOriginally posted by Midhun.akd View Post

If yes then on a hot engine
Try running it on a single sparkplug
Just remove cap of 1 sparkplug and rev it
If the bike fails to start on either sparkplug
Then it's a problem with your sparkplug or ignition coil
Please check this before you go for other repairs ...

Yes it is dtsi engine. Now bike is at bajaj service center. Converting it to 180. New head, bore, crank and piston. And 180 carb. Let's see how it will be after that. Expected damage is 25k. If any body needed 150 bore and head, crank, carb and silencer please let me knowOriginally posted by V!RU$ View PostIs your model DTSi version ???

Re: Need helping sort out top end speed on my pulsar 150
OK. Finally got my bike back from service centre. All the issues resolved. Now it goes above 120 kmh easily. And very smooth too. I can feel the 180 cc power. But the guy in as asked me to drive below 70 kmh for next 500 kms. Total damage was 29 k.
If anybody needed my 150 parts please let me know. Bore and Car is new. Head, silencer crankshaft are old. But is good
