  • Need Suggestion

    Respected Readers,
I recently purchased a pulsar 180 on 30 July 2014. It is just a week old for today.
When I received the bike, the rear wheel was wrongly aligned. During PDI they didn't observe it. I was facing some stability issues during cornering. The vehicle started to skid when i applied brakes. When I inspected this I found the problem. I repaired it ( realigned it) myself( I am a mechanic) in order to correct the vehicle. It is a matter of life. If wheels are wrongly aligned, Bike hobbles and looses stability. Now I am getting weird sounds from the drum and my chain has misaligned. It is slack on one side and tight on other. When I reported the problem they just cleaned the chips of the weared drum and the liner. The drum already got rust in four days. Now again the problem has raised and sounds are still present. They say It is normal during rains. What the Hell!!?? I ride bikes since my 9th standard and already 9 years of experience. I faced a similar issue with my old passion pro. They service guys did the misalignment in that vehicle.
Now I know it is a lifetime problem. It can never be cured. The solution is to change the rim and the drum. I do-not know how to deal with the service guys. They always prove they are right. So please suggest me. I feel very frustrated about this issue since it a brand new vehicle.
The only time that makes me tension free is when I ride my wheels

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Meet the store manager and talk to him. If it does not work, try taking an elder with you, or tell him that you'll shoot a mail to higher authorities. Come back home and do the same. I'd advice you not to tell them that you aligned it yourself. Cause they will be happy to cling on to that as a reason to void warranty. Also in your mail and while speaking to the store manager, stress on the point of you contacting the consumer court if the issue is not sorted out.

        Re: Need Suggestion

The problem with Indian motorcycle service centers is, they don't listen to the customer.. whatever they say is correct and whatever the customer says, they give a damn to listen.. They keep repeating the same thing.

I had an issue with my ZMR when I purchased it.. after 1st service, if I have the headlight turned on for half an hour, the battery dries off. When I took this to the ASC, they took the key from me, turned the ignition on and looked at the console.. they noticed the fuel gauge was blinking and they kept repeating the same thing. The bike doesn't have enough fuel and that could harm the bike, this is what has happened. because you have less fuel, the bike isn't starting.. I asked them to remove the Fuel tank lid and asked them to measure the fuel in it.. There was more than 3 ltrs of fuel and still they argued with me saying the fuel gauge shouldn't blink and thats the reason.

I immediately came home and shot a mail to Hero Head office in Vasant Vihar and explained everything in detail. They called up the Service Manager and screwed him.. They then replaced the battery for me after a huge altercation.. though that battery too dried off often, i didn't have time to fix this issue..

Only after I became an active member in xBhp (after 3 years) i came to know it was because of the stator plate which has gone kaput..

Well, why I am saying this is. The only way to get things going from the Service center is by treating the way they should be.. Drop a mail to the Bajaj head office and show your disappointment there..

First you purchase a vehicle and then instead of enjoying the ride one has to learn dealing with these idiotic ASC, it has now almost become a standard of not listening to customer, none of the single motorcycle manufacturer in this country is efficient in ASC(including harley), what the hell this is going on, write a strong maill to the company and see what happens afterwards, sadly your ordeal has just started now.

Sorry for your trouble dude. As you are already a mechanic, you found the fault more early. And I guess, this is exactly that I would have DONE!!

yes bro, I try the same. Yesterday I had mailed a complaint for which I got a call. They said they have already resolved it. I told its a joke and the issue is as it is. The personnel told me that he will solve the problem within two days.

Only people with technical knowledge can rectify this. For normal people they its a common problem in all bikes

According to my experience hero customer care is very much fast responsive than bajaj. One of my friend faced a lot of issues with his zmr. svc didnot respond, but cus.care did. The problem was then solved without any compromise

Hope the problem gets resolved. If it doesn't, get them to give you a new bike at no extra cost. go to consumer court and if you know any good advocate who is a very good friend of you, sue them..

We are paying our hard earned money on scrap that they give us and the crap the throw at us as if we are losers..

I kept my friend in cc to the mail i sent to the owner of Pashupati motors in South Delhi saying he is an advocate and he is receiving these mails. If he finds any fault in your responses, then he is going to tell me the next step on how to carry it further.. and I took my friend with me to meet the Owner after he personally requested me to come.. My friend started talking all things about law that he knows pretending to be my advocate.. that got the job done.. the same service manager got screwed by the owner.. this was because of another issue I faced with the Service Manager of Pashupati motors.. Owning a Premium bike from Hero Stable and the way they treated me was like "who the F**K cares if you own a premium bike, I will look after the smaller bikes first and then only I will look into your bike" and the worst thing was, they never found the issue..

The bike used to shut down by itself for no reason.. as if there was no fuel and the tank was always full.. this even made me meet my death by a couple of seconds while overtaking and those losers at the ASC took it so lightly.. they wanted to experts to come fix it.. initially they said the fuel pump has some problem and it would take some 10-15 working days to come after order (in warranty)..

during that wait, my bike stopped in the middle of the road early morning at 7 AM when coming back from office.. I was robbed at knife point by 3 guys. they took my new mobile, my helmet and some cash which I had in my wallet.. luckily, my bike wasn't starting at that moment and hence they spared it.. that got me furious and made me shoot the mail so many number of times following up every 10 minutes and then the above meeting with the owner happened. I said if this bike creates any more problem, you are giving me a new bike and i got that statement in written by the owner of Pashupati motors..

meanwhile, I was getting calls from another service center near my house in Indirapuram asking me to bring the bike. I was like "How can I bring it when the bike isn't starting". Then they came over to my house and tried to fix the issue. Somehow the bike started after they cleaned the spark plug.. the next day I took the bike to office and again near fortis in Sector 62 Noida, the bike got shut down again. Pushed the bike to my Old Office in Sec 59, parked it there, took an auto and went to office and again started screwing those B***ards..

The next day, I came home in a cab arranged by office, took my car and went to an ASC in Noida sector 57.. took the mechanic with me to Sec 59, he got the bike to start.. he said he will take the bike to the service center and asked me to come there.. they asked me for a day.. they removed the entire fairing and started looking out for the issue.. They cleaned the fuel filter & fuel pump and said the issue shouldn't be persisting anymore.. I took the bike towards south delhi where i purchased the bike to screw those service guys.. but the bike stopped in between again and this got me frustrated.. somehow after almost 20 selfs, the bike started.. I took a U turn and went to the ASC in Sec 57.. told them the issue is still there.. this time they striped the bike completely in front of me and after analyzing for almost 10 minutes, the Mechanic found the wire connected to the ignition coil to be loose.. it wasn't fitted properly.. they tightened the wire and asked me to test ride the bike with the mechanic sitting behind me.. we tested the bike for almost 10 kms and the bike felt free without any misfires.. I was satisfied this time and since then, I am not facing any issues and thats when I started screwing the Service Manager as he was unable to identify the issue.. after I got the letter written and signed by the Owner himself promising to replace the bike if any other problem appears, I was treated properly by the Service Manager and mechanics in that service center..

I hope I still have the mails I sent across.. I will look for them and I will paste them to this thread.. or open a new thread regarding this kinda issues with ASCs and how to get our job done (if a thread doesn't exist)

Just shoot another mail.. this time, like i said, keep someone in cc and say this is my advocate and he suggests if i dont gwt a response in a couple of days, we are moving to the consumer court.. and ask your friend to reply to all that mail..

                        I feel for you bro,

consumercomplaints.in is full of complaints for these two wheelers. but i doubt if they ever get resolved. more often than not i feel.

my friend's apache engine got fried within few months of purchase and needed a total replacement. (this happened in mumbai) he did not get a as good response from Serv. centre as he got from the customer care. and his issue was resolved to satisfaction.

So, my suggestion to you would be, (unless you have already tried it) approach the customer care"http://www.bajajauto.com/customer_care.asp" here they have mentioned phone nos. and patiently haggle them over this issue as a first resort. and always talk to higher ups as far as possible (ask for supervisors, so your query will be one step UP)

keep track of all your communication with them (ticket nos. and all)

And as a last resort then approach them as well as the Serv. centre with the legal eagles that ought to get them working.

                        PS: do keep us posted!

Thanks for the suggestion dude. I have already mailed them twice and just a minute back I mailed them saying that this will be the last mail to them. I also asked them to give my hard earned money back. I told I dont need a exchange vehicle from them. I already lost hope on them. I shall follow the same you suggested

Jackson, you have every right to be frustrated. Do follow up with the higher authorities and the customer care and keep us posted. High time the manufacturers don't take us lightly anymore.

First of all forgive me for my delay since I was busy with my work. On 9 August, I myself took the vehicle to the svc 35kms from my place and it is the showroom where I took the delivery. Before i took the bike there I had called them and informed about the issue. I warned them that i will publish this in newspaper and websites. I called the engineer and told him to remain in svc till I reach there. When I went there he was in meeting and the service managers listened to my issue. They knew who I was already because if the mail. Even though they didn’t gave me a single call. Such a worst service from bajaj. In the svc the engineer was inspecting the vehicle. He says there are no issues. On my order i told them to remove the wheel. They removed it. I inspected the brake liner. It was worn out. I showed it to the engineer. He inspected it with vernier and said they are alright. I showed him the rim. He said its too alright. Then i argued about the chain which was hobbling. He ordered the workers to remove it. He inspected rear sprocket. He said the teeth’s are not worn out. Then he inspected the front. Then he inspected the front sprocket. It was ok. I told him to inspect chain. Now he was lazy to do it. He then told the svc to install a new chain kit. Then we were technically discussing some matters and was happy about the conversation. I then serviced my bike there. But I was not happy about the service. Some formalities as it was a free service. But I was in full control of the svc guys as engineer was with me. Today morning the issue was there again. Really to say bajaj service is a crap and local mechanic is better than them. So it is a humble request to all members to inspect a bajaj vehicle completely before delivery. Else you may face a crappy service from bajaj.
On 12th of August I replaced my brake liner. Now the Issue has been solved to some extent, but not completely. Such a shame for bajaj. Their Authorised svc was not even able to detect the faulty liner. I myself had inspected the wheel by opening it completely and found liner to be faulty. In the liner the Asbestos layer which they paste on the metal shoe had been dislocated. It was a manufacturing defect. Thanks dudes for your support and suggestions for getting me free from this Issue. Have a nice day. And shortly I am going to write a review on my Pulsar 180 with a comparison with pulsar 150 and 220, and also some mods that can be done to increase the mileage.
