I am getting about 38kmpl from my rtr 180 with gear shifts consistently at 7k rpm and varying speeds along with the carb overflow problem. A few months ago I was getting around 42kmpl when I was a bit easy on the throttle

Is your carb not covered under warranty? If so stop looking for jugaad and ask for a new one under warranty. If as you say the carb problem is not common then new carb should solve the problem.

After a lots of begging nd trust on tvs i brought my dream bike apache 160 rtr beast model which was turend into nightmare very soon.
I got the delivery of my bike on 19-may-2014 was very happy it gave 55 wopping mileage it was awsome feeling i gave it to 1st service and my bike started giving trouble the head started leaking and mileage had droped to 35kms i always fill shell super petrol. I tried speak to svc but nothing worked my 2nd service was also not fruitful the problem was there so i took the matter in my own hands took it to a local mechanic i applied a lot of glue and fixed the head and the leak had stopped completely now comming to mileage it had increased to 49 i was very happy everything was fine then again the day came 3rd service i promptly went and gave the bike around 9:30am their was carbourator over flow which i had mention to them and mask vibration in job card around 4:30 i recived my bike nothing had changed i guess they did a water wash and oil change that all the carb was still leaking which i again came to my local mechanic and rectified. Now to add my problem the milage has again dropped to 37kms after 3rd service i am 100% sure that it was not my local meachanic fault coz i was im fornt of him while he fixed my bike he just open the part where the flute it and cleaned it fixed it. I took it to service center telling them the milage is low so they took it on some bech test and shocked me again saying my bike gives 75kms per liter. Its hopless to argue with them and my mechanic is not able to fine the fault which is causing this low milage problem my driving speed is max 55 till date i have only twice reached 98. So please help me how do i get my old milage back. I am suffering a lots as i am a student. Help me. Or refer me a good mechanic in bangalore.
don't get worried. PM me. lets talk over phone. its not a major issue.

None of your problems are serious. Write to TVS Customer care representatives. Call in their Toll free number. All will be taken care under warranty. The area manager will come to your rescue. I had my share of such problems in my initial days due to the useless Mechs, then after all the dramas, I was treated like a king. Dont leave them. Get everything rectified.
PS. Even my bike leaked oil untill 3K kms, after the warranty claim, It never leaked untill 50K kms.

Dude, I am sorry but I think you have shot yourself in the foot. I agree you had problems with the bike but during its warranty if you get it serviced by any other than ASS then the warranty becomes void. What the hell were you thinking going to your local mechanic however good he is, didn't you read the owners manual? If not, please read it entirely first and get to know some details.
Your best bet is now to go to ASS and try to convince them that the bike has issues since beginning and have to be sorted out or else you won't take it back. Be ready to even call up the area managers if needed. But if you ever disclose that a local mechanic worked on your bike, they will just dismiss you.

If you dont have anything nice to say. Why dont you just keep away. Because you arent helping.

@TS. Please dont ever take your new bike to local mechanic til the warranty period is over. The head leak could also mean the head gasket is burnt. A pic to show the leak would be helpful

Guys i came back from the mechaic had my carburetor full diesel wash told him not to change the tuning yet because its factory setted new needle and the carburetor was a lil tilted itseems so there was a over flow itseems and guys i don't know tecnical terms i mean by over flow is from the black color pipe attached below the carburetor to a small nozzle. I guess it's a drain pipe.

Shahbaaz, sorry to hear about your problem.
Have a talk with the showroom manager. If that does not help, write to TVS. And yes, don't let the local mechanic(however good he may be) apply his own methods because that would void the warranty.
                Keep us posted.

Your low mileage problem is from the leak in Carburetor bowl drain ...it should not occur if the float bowl drain screw is properly tightened.....Here is a suggestion, which need to be done with dexterity and carefully.. Take it to the mechanic, close the Petrol Tap ,and ask him to open the float bowl screw. You will see the float bowl petrol draining out....now ask him to GENTLY tighten and open the screw a few times(4~5) ,and then firmly tighten it . This is to ensure that the Taper on the drain screw forms a seat ,and seals properly...Excess force will break the screw/ carburetor float bowl body....so do the same with utmost care.
Alternately, you can also ask him to fully take out the drain screw, then apply liquid gasket to the tip of the screw , and then tighten it. In this case you have to wait at least 15~20 minutes , before opening the petrol tap and let petrol into the carburetor.

The BS26 and BS 29 are also available with Bajaj or outside at 2,200~2,300/-

I have tried this bro. I have written a complaint twice in consumercomplaint forum. I have written it even in TVS company website. they even called me twice but nothing was done after that. Speaking to supervisor is also done by me he talks very calmly and smoothly and assures that the problem will b solved but it wont be. Again and again he does the same. Speaking to friend of mine who had a similar problem said that svc guys took his bike telling that they will send it to the head office mechanic but even after 15 days it was not done and the bike was rotting in svc frustrated he brought the bike and sold it for 60k to a broker more over his seat and tires were also changed. i don't wanna end up like that. SO i am finding an alternative where my bike can be in front of me. coz i love this bike very much this is my 1st, 1st hand bike.

Rinse and repeat...... Uh........ I mean change the svc, write to tvs central, and repeat the process. Not like you have a choice anyway.
Alternately.............. Although I really don't recommend it, you could forget this nonsense and fix your ride yourself, just as I did. But then I strongly recommend you stick with warranty claims bro. It'll make your life easier. As I said "rinse and repeat"

not to offend you. but then you stated you are a student. i assume you will have little more time at your disposal then most of the working folks here. if all of us can do it then why not you. if you get frustrated its sad. if you go and frustrate the SVC folks i will be happy. as stated. "REPEAT" go sit on their head. dont make a begging mercy face there. make a face that you are about to screw them royally. go to the showroom where you purchased it from. call the owner. tell him that his SVC is not fixing it and you are sending a notice to him under his showroom and svc for non support and negligence and mental harressment and loss of income and ask him to duly reply it.

go to a notary/advocate on a 10 rupee stamp paper ask him to send out a notice. they will not charge more than 250 bucks. yes "spend this money". get them on their knees. don's leave them fools until they get on their knees.

i still wonder why people wanna give up so easily. you don't get your right here you must snatch it. things work in a different way in this country my friend.
