piece of paper with his name address on it saying he has taken delivery of the vehicle is no good.
There is a delivery report/proper documentation mentioning the details of the buyer and seller and that the buyer has taken the delivery of the mentioned vehicle.

Re: Buyer is not transferring ownership of bike

        Dear Team Members,

Please help me/guide me in this regard.

We had a scooty pep registered on my father's name in the year 2013 in Hyderabad. While buying my current bike (Discover 100 4G) this scooty pep was traded off at the bajaj dealer ship. The Agent who bought this scooty pep gave us a receipt. All was fine until one fine day my after got a SMS from Hyderabad traffic police that there were pending challans in his name and would be charge sheeted if not paid in the next 15 days. Again after a few days we received another SMS from traffic police as a reminder. Now some facts:
        1. We have the receipt by the agent that we have sold the scooty pep to him. (I also suppose that he would be having the details of the person who has bought the scooty from him).
        2. We have moved out from the house (which was rented and the old owner does not have the where abouts of us) at which the scooty pep was registered.
        3. Also my father has moved out of Hyderabad.
        4. I have contacted the agent to let me know the details of the person who had bought the scooty so that I can iform him to pay up. But I later dropped th
        5. As this vehicle was sold to an agent I have no control to register the vehicle on the purchaser's name.

Considering the above facts Please guide me what to do ASAP. Can I be rest relaxed as I have the copy of the sale receipt with me.

        Regards
        P.S.Srinivas

You sold teh bike to the agent not to the buyer. You also did not transfer the ownership like you should have. The sale receipt is good for safety but not for too long.

As the bike is still in your name, you should get hold of the buyer and do the ownership transfer. If he refuses you will have to go for an FIR.

Get the ownership transferred as soon as possible.

Re: Buyer is not transferring ownership of bike

Though this does not help the actual issues in thread, but 2 of my colleagues at work sold their vehicles through online portals, and they made a non negotiable condition to the buyer that vehicle keys will be handed over to them only after they make the vehicle ownership transfer at respective transport
