  • Help: Yamaha RX100

Hello All....hey friends if anyone can guide me with my RX100.
She is a 87model, currently I got the ring changed .... but after few days lost the compression drasticaaly just to find out that the head packing was leaking.... well I got the packing changed as well as the slide nut between head and cylinder changed...Now the compression is back, but the pick up and the speed is not as it was before...

Well so if anyone can help me with this or let me know a good mechanic in south delhi for yamaha RX100. I would really appreciate it..... thanx

Whats the compression ratio your bike pumping out, just check your clearance between rings and the bore if it is more you are tend to loose performance and even check your crank play its should not be more than 1mm.

hey yesterday something starnge happened with my bike..... the oil started leakin from teh drain plug.....I dnt know how...well since I was in office couldnt do much about it .....and yesterday left office around 8pm so could not even go to my mechanic....

in the nite i went to a mechanic who was about to close, said he cant do anything about as that stupid person while openiong the drain plug slipped it once or twice...and then he applied that bond material glue which didnt work ofcourse.......then I consulted my own mechanic I layed down my bike and applied m-seal on it....

guys tell me what shall be the best way to cure this problem out of her permanently....... is redoing the threads in the oil chamber work out..????

22 years ke baad aisi cheezen hone ka chance hota hai na yaar! Take it in your stride&just get it attended. Luckily RX-100 spares are also cheap.

Most mechanics needlessly overtighten the drain plug... and the result is what you are seeing. Its possible that the nut was overtightened, but the crankcase bolt/threads were not damaged (visibly) immediately... but finally gave up after the metal heated up on driving.
