Can't be done, as most of our bikes have integrated gearboxes. Even the new Bullets are coming with UCE (Unit Construction Engine) now, where they claim the engine&gearbox are integrated.

@rammki067: Having less gears means less gear shifts! The Fiero F2 (if you remember I also have a '04 model, having done 47K kms.) has a nice capability of moving in top gear (4th) from speeds of 20kmph upwards. I find it so much easier in traffic compared to my R15 which has 6 gears.

IIRC - Venu Srinivasan, TVS Motors MD had a 5 speed Fiero for his personal use. Don't remember whether its Original Fiero or Fiero F2.

tvs had plans to introduce fiero f2 with 5 speed gear box in December 2003.It came as a news at that time, but they have launched fiero fx with 4 speed in 2004 march. May be that fiero f2 which made by tvs at that time owned by Venu Sreenivasn..

get hold of Ajay Sharma somehow - in Service Training Center, at Maruti Udyog Ltd Gurgaon. I lost his contact no. long back

I worked there as a trainee for a few weeks and this guy had modded his bike to add a fifth cog to a 4-speed bike.

          Anyone employed in Maruti?

TVS developed a 5-speed gearbox for the original Fiero back in 2000. However it was Suzuki's hell-bent approach with forced TVS to launch the 4-speed variant.
That 5-speed GB got revised ratios and we now know it as the apache!

u guys are right. impossible is not a word. technically it can be done. forget rationality, input/output, cost-benefit, etc.

so change the block, the heads, the silencers, the frame and sm cosmetics to a pulsar and then u will find that the pulsar gb is a direct fit!

              am brilliant!
