  • [SlideShow]: Honda CB-Unicorn 150 engine sound

    I have a Honda CB-Unicorn 150 (2014 model) completed 10k kms.
Tik-tik sound is coming from engine.
I have shown it to local mechanic, however he was unable to understand the problem.
Then i showed it to Honda ASC.
They had told me to replace chain tensioner. So i replaced chain tensioner and the sound was removed.
They had given me the old one.
After 1 month same sound was coming from engine. So i went again to ASC.
First they told me that it was not their fault and I have to replace it again.
After talking to the head manager he told me to look into the issue
He had prepared my job card again. The next day when I went he told me that they had replaced chain tensioner without any cost but they didnt give the old one this time.
I don't know whether they replaced tensioner or not ,but the sound was removed which was the only concern I had.
After 1 month sound appears again and I don't understand what to do now
In the meantime I had also replaces valves due to bike loosing compression 2-3 times
    1)Why this sound is coming?
    2)Cause of this sound?
2)Should I go again to ASC or should concern a good mechanic?

Do you lube your chain properly. In such short distance of every one month time this problem should not come.

i can be wrong here but it seems you have been looted by service guys , Tik tik noise is tappets or roller bearing . Either one of them . First get them corrected to standard clearances using feeler gauge only. bike is lost compression 2-3 times in 10K kms only :O , the quality of HMSI has went down the drain.

Don't worry ..... that is a very common problem with Honda Unicorn ..... happens with me too .....

That's sound of TAPPETS. Go to a good mechanic ... Open compression chamber & do the adjustment

But don't make the TAPPETS too tight ..... or you will loose pick up
