Re: showroon registration vs self
I can tell you that insurance will cost you lesser for sure as I got it done myself and it cost me 3.5K vs 5.5K from the showroom.
Registration was done by the showroom itself so I don't know about that.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Re: showroon registration vs self
a) It saves lot of time, though you spend a little more amount.
b) Getting the papers ready on time and god knows what the RTO might ask
c) Bribe would have already reached or will reach them from the showroom personnel who handles your registration
d) You might end up chasing your own tail to get the process completed on time, you still can progress with it if you have enough time, since you need to know when you have to take your bike for registrations, how to get that slot etc...R15S - Current

Re: showroon registration vs self
Insurance: You can save some money as dealers always quote more than the actual insurance amount.
Registration: If you have time and patience you can do it. You can definitely save money. However agents those who work for the dealers will have good connection with the RTO guys and they will easily do the job and may be they can create some trouble/delay when you approach the RTO directly. It all depends.!!!__________________________________

Re: showroon registration vs self
If you have all the documents from the show room you can do the registration yourself. Please visit your State RTA website for the actual charges, here in Hyderabad the registration ( Not the Road tax) costs about 500 inclusive of the Smart Card. You must be easily saving 1000 if you are a DIY guy. Keep us posted with your experience.Originally posted by qualitylover View Postthankyou all for your replies actually am student and i have ample amount of time to do all this stuff it is like i m nt earning but atlest i can save some valuabl money so wanna do it self

Re: showroon registration vs self
It depends on your thinking if it time is money or money is time.To save money get it done by yourself or to save time let the showroom people do this.Regarding the bribe if you have spare time I can assure you that you will have to bribe no one2030 " we used to ride petrol motorbike and you can not even afford one drop of it"

Re: showroon registration vs self
The online registration is only for Temporary Registration which is valid for a short duration of One month from date of purchase. You will have to visit the RTA for a permanent registration ( Even if you opt to take the service of an agent from show room itself).Originally posted by qualitylover View Postwhat if the company does online registration will it be same?
My previous post refers to the Permanent Registration only. You Cannot ride/drive without a Temporary registration, However remember No Dealer should force you to go with his agent for Permanent Registration.

Procedure for Self Registration of New vehicle in Gurgaon
I m thinking of purchasing a KTM Duke 390 in March from Gurgaon, the dealer is charging me more than the specified RTO fee's for registration (He is charging a little over 8% whereas the vehicle RTO rate is 6% of the ex-showroom price of the bike).
Now I m 100% sure of getting it registered myself but I don't have any idea about what all documents have to be submitted in the Gurgaon RTO.
The dealer has agreed to let me register the product myself but if anybody can advise, what exactly is the procedure to get a new vehicle registered in Gurgaon and how much time does it take?
Also I do not wish to get the Bike registered with the help of any agents.
Thanks in Advance

re: Registering a new motorcycle yourself, save on insurance and registration charges
Update on the Thread,
Recently purchased KTM Duke 390 from Gurgaon and today went for the Self registration.
Simple and trouble free experience.
Now here is the flow for the prospective owners in Gurgaon for self registration of Car/Bike
1- After the Purchase of the Vehicle, ask Dealer to prepare the file for you, nowadays, online clearing of the vehicle happens from the Dealer and all the paperwork will be handed over to you once the dealer has generated UAN(Unique Application Number).
2- Takes about 24hrs to be updated on the portal.
3- Go to the RTO office in Mini Secretariat and head towards counter number 4 with the file and the proof's attested.
4- Get it verified from the concerned person sitting on Counter 4.
5- Head towards the RC fees counter and show them the file, they will print a receipt regarding fees to be paid.
6- Pay the required fees and head back to Counter 4 to submit the file with the fee receipt.
7- Permanent number will be allocated to you and you will be told to wait for 5 minutes after which they will call out your name and will hand over to you the receipt with the Vehicle number and the date to collect the RC.
8- Go back home happy with your purchase.
For HSRP will update the tread once I get it made.
PS: KTM dealer was charging me INR 16000 for a bike of Cost 1.96 lakhs ex showroom, I went ahead and got it done without any agent's help and half day leave from office for INR 12150.
It is fairly simple process.Hero Honda Dawn-2009-2011
