Thanks for sharing the information Tushar. Good to know that dealing with the government is not as difficult as we imagine
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

      Update On HSRP-

Last week when i went for the Registration process, the HSRP(high security number plate) the one with IND written on it, is to be applied seperately, from the Linkutsav shop.
So just after i received the slip with the Permanent Number for my bike, I went to the shop to apply for HSRP.

Here are the steps for the Application process-

1-After you get the Slip with permanent Registration number, don't head to the shop on the same day, because in the RTO office the database needs to get updated and that takes min 7 days.
2- So after a week today I went to the shop and told the person that I want to get the HSRP made for my bike.
3- He asked for the Registration number of the bike, I told him, he entered in the system, my details were displayed in it with the FEE to be paid.
4- To apply you need to give the ID proof of the Person on whose name the vehicle is registered along the slip or Permanent RC xerox copy.
5- So keep DL and RC/RC Slip photocopied beforehand.
6- He will ask you your mobile number.
7- After the payment of the prescribed fees, you will get a confirmation message with the fees been paid.
8- I asked him when should i come to get the number plate fixed, to which the person replied, once the HSRP is made, I will receive a message on the mobile phone and the next day after receiving the message I need to go with the vehicle and the fee slip which he gave.

This is the Link to the address of the HSRP dealer and fees to be paid

Saving on Insurance and Registration charges

I am buying a new bike in 2-3 lakh bracket.
On analysing quotation from dealer I figured out that I can save 8-10k on insurance and registration combined.
I have no experience of dealing with purchasing bike so please help me with following.
I understand temporary registration and insurance is required to get the bike out of showroom.
        1. Who will do temporary registration? The dealer? if so, how much is charge for temporary registration.
        2. What documents I should collect from dealer?
        3. I understand chassis number is needed to insure a new vehicle. how long will it take for insurance company to get me a policy after I give them chassis number? Will dealer actually stop me from taking delivery unless I have insurance?
I want to get all thing done from dealer side in a single meet(same day). Won't trust them with my bike after I break the news that I am not going to shell out single rupee more that price of bike.
