    Dude.. Dont use such things.

Anyways i just got a formula 1 carnauba wax.

Cost for 340 grams 270 bucks with an applicator pad. (Got it from Alfa , Mumbai)

    The container says :

1)Leaves a deep, high gloss shine
    2)Beads water upto 12 months
3)Restores all paint finishes to look like new
    4) UV protection

It looks like soft nivia cream but slightly coffee coloured.

I havent tried it out but will try in soon and post some pics. I have read in the community that this is one of the good polishes or wax available, So i would like to thank them. Also i would like to thank those who created and contributed to posts related to fake formula usa wax.

Im not too comfortable with using abrassive products like brasso\silvo\brite-o, etc.

Please do not recommend "any automotive accessory shop". I tried multiple and they really do not know the products they have, and try to palm off inappropriate substitues for items they dont have.

To summarize, is there a specific shop you would recommend in chennai which has a decent range of 3m, sonax, waxpol and turtlewax (which i guess is out of the picture now) products. Also a source for microfiber cloth would be nice.
even i hav been unable to find any shop in chennai selling these products.. still in the hunt... guys if u know any place pls share it...

None of these , more recent , more expensive products from Waxpol ,quite matches up to their ancient hard carnuba wax for longest lasting ,
safest ( absolutely no abrasion ) , and hardest to apply and take-out wax .It is simply called waxpol auto-polish in orange shallow tubs,of 50,100,200 & 500 Gms .I buy the 200 for Rs 95 here in kolkata .
Almost 99% of the "imported" products available here are fake . None ,even if original is as good as waxpol auto polish . None is available for this reasonable price . I am willing to take the extra time & work to keep my bike shiny & protected . Before monsoons I dismantle the seat & side panels of bike & then give it a good waxpol coating , all over , and don't remove or buff/finish it even , to keep all the wax coat on for the rainy days ahead . Safe for plastics , chrome , leather , wood or vinyl etc .
When I was a young boy , my dad used to use the same stuff from a similar tub , on his black ambassador mark II . It was labeled "burmah shell car polish" then . I remember , it smelled the same as this waxpol stuff . It's jolly good stuff ,don't bother with anything else , if you are not shy of a polishing-workout . Recently I couldn't find this in auto-accessory shops , then I found it in a paints & hardware-shop . Evrything else i tried was - easy on , easy gone . So look around .

                • I also use the good old WaxPol, but in liquid form. Cheap&best!
I agree it lasts long, but you have to scrub real hard&make sure you don't leave any polish without rubbing later-the stains tend to harden&are a bit tough to remove later.
                  Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Address: #31, 7th 'B' Main, 4th Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore - 560011 - Thanks to gd76 (Gautham) for taking me there.

He also has the expensive Meguire Wax starting 1200bucks onwards. Meguire is also very good.. but very expensive.

I paid 450 bucks for a 397grams box of turtle wax and its done a great job on my bikes. Superb stuff for the money!

My 2 year old Disco which has never been polished was shining like a new bike in no time after a test coat of wax! My R15 is getting a coat soon! Even after 2 weeks and washes, and LOADS of dust on the bike. Its easy to clean the bike and the polish has left the bike smooth to touch and soft.

                        Go for turtle wax!.

And for wash i use a dedicated car wash shampoo from 3M. So far its been satisfactory. Just used it once and it cleaned up my bike very well. It cost me 180 bucks for 100ml

Gonna wash it this weekend since all my riding has gotten my bike really grimy, lets see how it works. Used to use sunsilk on my bike but realized it quickly that its not meant to be used on bikes as there are better stuff available.

I use STP - Sun of a Gun (dashboard polish...rubber, vinyl) for the non painted areas, mirrors and fiber parts and it is awesome!

Buddy are u talking about Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell?

                          • Does anyone know what kind of polish to use on fibreglass components? Things like Formula 1 are apparently not to be used on fibreglass parts... and all the FZ series from Yam are mainly fibreglass...

                            • engine and alloy wheels

What is the black color of the alloy wheels and engine(external) is made up of?which is common in all bikes in India, is it simply a paint or carbon coating or plastic coating or something else.

is there any separate polish or wax needed for it to apply or is it OK,if we apply the polish or wax that we apply for the paint of the bike
