Ok... if you say so. But have heard about fakes at Big Baazar. No personal experience though. As for F1, I hope you are not using that on your new bike!Originally posted by Motorcyclist View PostGenerally the so called 'fakes' at big bazaar is actually stuff that is produced for Future group (the main company for BigBazaar) and branded with their name.
I have checked out most stuff at Big Bazaar (i recently purchased a f1 wax tin from there). The stuff is good.
Moreover, Big Bazaar has to maintain their name in the industry which leads me to trust them more than the roadside shop.
Like they say, when selecting between two evils, select the lesser evil!...
If you want genuine stuff in in Poona, I can point you to reliable shops.
Waxpol's Silicone Polish is the worst stuff I have tried. It is at its worst on paints. Not great on plastics either. Would not recommend it to anyone.Originally posted by iamvik View PostI use Abel Auto Liquid Wax. I'm very happy with the results. The gloss is good and the water beading effect seems to last quite long considering the
conditions here.
I checked out the company and I found out that it is actually owned by Turtle Wax. The products are of really good quality but the company is unknown, since it mostly makes products for car repair and accessory chain shops in Europe.
In the past, I've used Vista spray polish (it's a liquid wax). Like many waxes and polishes, the gloss is good but the effect doesn't last long.
I also use Waxpol Silicone polish. I use it mainly for naked plastic parts since using wax on them will cause them to become stained white. It works well on black plastic parts like mudguards, instrument consoles, etc.
I think I'll try Waxpol Protectol next.
Protectol is a bit better. But then there is much better stuff... I wouldn't bother with it.
For plastic parts, I use F1 dashboard cleaner. Works great. Other dashboard cleaners may work well too...

By experience I can tell you that the product I have used is horrible. No shine and no beading. More than the money, it's energy that is wastedOriginally posted by iamvik View PostFrom what I've heard and read, it's not a bad product but not a great product either.
It seems that Waxpol's best product is their "Super quality polish". It's a wax that's rich in Carnauba wax and apparently does a great job of protecting paint and creating gloss. It's hard wax so it's difficult to apply and buff but the results are supposed to be fabulous.

I finally managed to buy my most favourite wax polish-3M Premium Liquid Wax
EDIT: Just spoke to a 3M distributor. He said Spar, Total, Metro & Staples stock their genuine products. Hope this piece of info is useful for our Bengaluru members using 3M polish like me.Last edited by NitinGirish; 11-25-2009, 01:27 PM.A lone amateur built the ark. For my bike, I have ordered for Amway Car wash and glaze. A friend is an Amway fellow and he is going to get it for me. Will keep you posted.
For Vinyls/plastics I use an old trick learnt in college. mix 1 part vinegar with 3 parts water. Clean you plastics, glass with that. it will work wonders (please test on a small invisible area first in case you have a different polymer compound!)Riding the BULL....(with out the LET)...

Turtle Hard Shell, 3M Liquid, Amway Silicone, Waxpol Super Quality Wax all produce good results on cars (bikes too!). However, the last one is said to be the most long lasting but also takes max. effort. The first two and the last one are safe for frequent use. Can't say about Amway...Originally posted by winzeee View PostIve been using motomax for a long time im satisfied with it
.
But i tried it on my car the results were not that great
weird
.
So im looking for some other brand,
Raccoon do u have any idea on which one is the best for cars??

I don't suppose anyone uses Colin to "polish" the bike! It might just cause some harm to the paint-work of the motorcycle, in the long run. Get a 3M or Formula-1 wax, they are not that expensive and work wonders when it comes to the shine.Originally posted by jugnu_sidhu View Postcan't we use colin to clean the bike
does it harm the paint
