A similar thing happened to a friend on his 200NS. Turned out it was the fuel pipe bent underneath the tank releasing petrol very slowly to the carburetor. Replace and ensure that the pipe is straight without any kinks or blockages.

Also, check for fuel quality by filling at big bunks only.

In the morning I opened up the tank and checked for fuel pipe and cleaned the container just before fuel reaches the carb. But I didn't notice any clogs but cleaned them up anyway. After that I wanted to clean the carb and at this point I realized why Bajaj mechanics don't want to open the carb. From my knowledge and what I saw the carb can only be opened by opening the engine head then the cylinder and the carb will come out with the cylinder. Anyway I started my return journey and I initially stopped at every 10Kms after the first 20kms I did not see the problem so I gradually increased the the the distance to 30kms. Finally I reached Bangalore without any stops. During the return ride I kept my speeds at 90 to 100 and didn't face the issue again.

Thanks for the reply, right now I need to get the carb cleaned as it hasn't been cleaned in 10000kms. So my hunt for a mechanic begins.


There was no kinks in the fuel pipe.

Either this [emoji115] or does the bike ride long enough for the fan starts ? Like does the bike stop once it's too heated,? And does it start again once the engine is cooled down? If it's that it's an electrical issue

So where was the problem at? I was facing a similar issue on my 200 NS and the mechanic wasn't upfront about the problem was at..

There was no kinks because before the trip I opened the bike myself to clean the air filter and when putting the tank back I paid special attention (like I always do).

The engine overheat light never came up, also when I reached home I checked the temp and there was no overheating.
There is a place(some kind of container) where the fuel from the fuel valve and the overflow pipe come. From there the fuel goes to the carb. I cleaned that, so something might have clogged it and may have fixed the problem. If not that the other thing that I did was to set the sparkgap on one of my sparkplug. But I don't think it was a sparkplug issue as it is virtually impossible for all 3 sparkplugs to not function simultaneously.

Right now I am not sure what was the problem, as I didnot find any visible clog anywhere in the fuel system.

Another major issue is the Bajaj service in all the service centers I have gone to the mechanics overhype the problem or if it is too confusing for them they just assure you that everything is fine. Eventually no proper solution to the problem.

Anyway have you ever got your cleaned carb cleaned? Does your mechanic even clean the airfilter while servicing(cuz mine does not, any requests lead to a convincing speech that will make you feel you can ride your bike to space and come back).

It can be a loose ignition coil wire.. I faced the same issue with my ZMR when she was brand new.. I would suggest you check on the ignition coil wire as well..

The first thing I did was to check whether there is a spark in the spark plug and fortunately there was on 2 spark plugs. The third one I couldnot test as it didn't come out.

Yes but even if the wire is loose there might be Spark but not enough to start the motor! Even in my ZMR case, it was similar..

Wo..You got some extensive knowledge.anyways I have been looking for a good ASC since I got the bike. And no I haven't found one where the do the work from top to bottom to no avail..Including the carb cleaning. And my bad luck I tried an online garage service and that's how I use faced the issue of the bike stopping every few kms. When I read the manual there is so much work to be done every for every service. I love the NS but since they stopped it's it takes way too longer to get parts too..Even things like footrests

By the way do you face the issue of your bike riding like it has no power once it hits it reserve.. Immediately once it reserve..I had a mechanic changed the fuel pipe and cleaned the carb ..But still the same

I saw no loose wires near the capacitors, beyond that I couldnot trace the wire as it was hidden thanks to the perimeter frame.

But I don't think there was any loose wiring as it should have given me missfires when the bike was running.

First thank you I try to fix anything that is mine on my own.
Well if I cannot find a mechanic to do it for me, as soon as possible I will give it a go at it.
Everything is perfect, I never felt any powerloss and also got a top speed of 144. I got a Cosworth air filter which gives me great mid range power delivery paired with exceptional throttle response.

By the way in my old bike GS150R had a fuel valve like this (Pic is below). The longer tube is for normal fuel part, the short one is for reserve fuel. The Pulsar will have something similar, so it might be that the shorter pipe is jammed due to dirt or something else in your bike.
