My bike has these mods :

    1) Rz reed valves.
    2) Street porting.
    3) Rdd cdi digi 5.
    4) Uni pod filters.

I am running on +6/+7 advance timing on the bike, Was using a VM-26 till date bike was still runing lean with 240 main jets this is with the stock silencer not chamber, later we have upgraded to VM-28 and the bike's jetting is almost 95% complete now i clocked 100.97 (with stock siliencer) on the sigma where my weight being 90kgs and no weight reduction being done on the bike, we have to go little leaner now, i hope you are clear now ..
240!!!!!!!! are you serious??! man!!what mileage you get? 15kmpl?
are you saying i will need to switch to a vm24 in my case? stock being vm20..

let me get the filter, will post whatever happens..maybe cuz of porting you need a bigger jets....

but considering a rx135,top end of 100 is little on the sad side, keepin in mind the mods you've done.maybe its the weight.but still
why dont you give it to a friend of yours who;s lighter and ride it and check the top end.
mine has hit max of 116km/hr measured on the rtr speedo..

QUESTION:there is a flute inside the silencer, what will happen if i remove it? then it would be really free flow right

question2: in cruiser bikes which are modded, they make their own silencers(american chopper for example)
they just bend the pipes and instal, there is no cat con there, neither any fulte..are they simply attaching a pipe?

        ok some questions..

above you mentioned speed 100 on the speed gun
        here you said this
"did a recent speed check with a speed gun he is hitting 110 on the speed gun"

"no time bike does 8.6k rpm in 3rd gear while speedo shows"
how did you measure the rpm? you have a tacho installed?even i wanted one for a long time

"if you need a speedo on your bike source a fiero hubset, if you don't need a speedo then F2 hub, in my case i didn't need a speedo so went on with the F2 hub, i have to thank sandeep k"
could you elaborate more on this? does F2 HUB mean the tachometer?

        atul says
"btw teji, he'll be getting a motorpipe too..very soon.."
is that chamber he is talking about??

"started fiddling around with the oil pump settings, finally decided to disconnect it emptied the oil in the tank disconnected the cable so from now on no oil pump."

        no oil pump?????how?why?
how often do we need to clean the UNI? is after every 10k fine?

another question! damn these things keep running in my mind!!

2 strokes usually get heated a lot.i was thinkin of putting 2 pipes, say about 3" dia, mount them on the leg gueard or around and direct them towards the engine..

so one end of the pipes is facing forward and other sides are angled towards the engine, will help in throwing extra air at the engine when the bike is running at some decent speed..

          will it work?

I have never done these mods for mileage, i am getting 20kmpl, which is much more then what i expected.

No stock carb is enough for a stock set up, i mean stock ports.

Thats right coz of porting and more advance timing too.

Those are called muffler caps, by removing them you get a free flow and sound increases.

They are custom built free flow pipes, don't ever think of converting an RX to cruiser, street dogs will eat you up..

I wish hub was related to tacho hub means wheel hub ..

Using expensive motul 800 the oil pump was drinking much oil, so decided to depart from the pump.

it depends upon your riding conditions, i clean it at 5k kms.

It will not work you will end up screwing your bike.

removing the flute will make it free flow, will the performance increase? any effects on the engine?

Read properly i said on the sigma
whats a sigma? i only know the mathematical one!!

It will not work you will end up screwing your bike.
but why? i am providing more air to it to cool down..i am not even touching the engine..i dont care about looks!!

ok i just made the payment for the rdd cdi to torqu3e sir, hoping to receive it soon..some queries though.this might help future buyers too i think..

1.what should i expect to be happening if i just replace my stock cdi with the rdd one?

2.is advancing the timing really important,if yes, what am i actually gaining out of it,why do i need to do it in the first place?

3.if in the extreme case(cuz i am yet to read a -ve feedback about the rdd cdi) suppose i feel it isnt worth the money, what do i do?

regarding 1 and 2 teji and pradeep will answer.
                    3. if you feel so send that cdi to me. there are so many guys waiting for the CDi to be installed.

but on the serious note, there is no -ve feedback for rdd CDi's as well other performance kits they provide.

Only replacing CDI will give you marginal gains, but nothing worth writing home about.

If you understand the thermodynamics of an engine and how BMEP affects power delivery I can get into what advancing timing will do.

In this forum's terms, it will unleash power LOL

ok dint have internet access for some time
received the RDD CDI within 2 days of shipping.

now how do i make the connections? the wires are marked as pulsar,ht coil etc,do i need to connect them all? is my stock cdi wiring also colour coded like these wires?

ok just came back home.installed the cdi,was little confusing as the stock wires were of different colour and the ones on the rdd cdi were somewhat different, honestly was pretty nervous about connecting it as tejinder sir said, one wrong connection and ill blow up the cdi!!

took it to my mechanic, the stock cdi was placed below the tank,we were expecting it to be below the seat..
                            anyways go it done finally..phew..

no change as said before, the bikes become, what do i say,a little crispy..better throttle reponse..mileage, will have to check..

will be getting the timing advanced in some 4-5 days,my mech's getting the necessary equipments for it..timing gun, drill etc..

so will see the real magic of the rdd cdi then hopefully..

                              whats
the difference between a 4 stroke and 2 stroke carb? should i expect anything phenomenal if i exchange the 2 carbs?
i am confused about flatside,vm,mikuni carbs..

Can someone give me an opinion?

Hi everyone! I bought a 1988 RX100 3yrs back running on 2nd bore from a pig catcher. I just have a question and I would really appreciate it if any of you could help; My bike gives me a mileage of 38-40kmpl if i drive sensibly without revving, but when a "pull" the bike in any gear, it flutters mid-range then it really gives a turbo-charged effect (power band) using a fake proton purchased for Rs650. Does this mean the bike is ported? or is it just me?

Here are some pics of my bike..
