  • [HELP]Too Low Pickup P180Ug3

My 2007 Pulsar 180 Ug3 has run just 9700 kms till now .. and from about last 2 weeks .. i found that my bike refuses to pull like a normal pulsar does .. i checked with the ss guys .. they always say its normal and all .. and its not a clutch issue because clutch slipping can be easily caught and high Rpm will be the issue .. but here its different .. the engine refuses to catch revs quickly .. i always used castrol active xtra 20W50 .. changed 400 kms ago .. spark plugs changed 200 kms ago .. air filter is also clean .. and bike is not runing lean its on stock settings and no performance mods in the bike .. the engine sound is gud and smooth .. bike gets gud top end and evrything but right now i think the engine doesnt revive freely as is used to do beforre ... it feels like twisting throttle makes no use .. engine doesnt seems to be stressed either .. it feels like there is lack of supply or tappet setting is wrong ? .. please help me

    Query Approved.

Get the engine tuned properly. As far as I can tell, it might be some sort of problem with the proper tuning of the mill.

Tappet Setting may well be wrong, so get it checked. Both the valves and their timings should be correct for optimum functioning.

Also, check if there are any obstructions in free flowing of exhaust gases.

I mean, take a peek into the exhaust, and see if any water/ material/ glasswool (looks like hairs) is in the way... Get such things removed if they are.

Apart from that, do check out the throttle play (although, I don't expect this to be the flaw) ...

U can easily make out the tappet noise. Just accelerate hard and keep ur head sideways(Else u ll hear nothing but the wind), u ll hear the tappets if they are loose.
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Damn, Does that mean that those "Bells" I hear from my P180 UG3, above 7500 rpm is this tappet noise?

Everytime, I touch 7500+ rpm, I start hearing bell sounds from engine.

I see, Well, I'll have to go to Service Centre too ...

as i already told there is absolutely no noise from the engine ... but the bike refuses to rev .. i showed my bike to bajaj service center they checked tappet and are fine ... they told me that clutch plates are burnt .. then i showed it to local mechanic .. he told tat there is something wrong with carburettor .. i am confused .. and ya they also checked compression .. it is exactly same as the new bike so am happy about that

Clutch plates must be the issue since you have got almost everything tested...!

Before you change your clutch plates - why don't you give the carb a good cleanup. Sounds like a dirty carb/jet issue. Your problem is that the revs don't build up...which means that the clutch plates are fine. If the clutch plates were shot - the bike would rev without going anywhere.

This is either an ignition problem or a carburetor problem...

To everyone else who posted on this thread...I know it is exciting to try and troubleshoot problems but several (if not all) of you have given incorrect advice. He would have ended up changing his clutch plates, gearbox oil etc. for no reason...

Please be careful giving out advice...and learn how to troubleshoot problems before shooting from the hip.
