guys...........
.i have given my bike to my mechanic today for getting all the problems solved......he is going to do the following work.....
1. replace steering cone...
2. replace chain & sprockets...
3. replace rear shock's.........n if still the balance does not improve......we have decided to get the wheel-spokes changed n tyre refitted.......
4. also he is going to work on clutch & bell...........
actua;;y i dint understand wat he said about the bell part very clearly....but as he said the bush has gone ...........& needed to b worked upon...........anybody could help me with this???

no man...........the mechanic screwd up the whole damn thing............also nobody helped me out here.........i have got in touch with the srvice manager of shriram bajaj service centre in thane .......he has asked me get my bike to him today........i will give my bike to them & let us see how do they solve the problems.........Originally posted by animeher View Post

Just that their charges will be wee bit higher than outside.
My Cali115 was also very problematic a year ago. But one servicing and a bill of around 1500 for replacing cone set, brake shoe and some other stuff at Castrol bike zone and she was back to her good days. The only problem I have now is the crank/connecting rod noise, otherwise the vehicle runs fine.
Some say caliber 115 was the last quality product from Bajaj stable in that range (highly debatable though ) So relax. Do keep us updated about the progress. And one more thing. If at all the bike repair cost is exceeding 5000rs (highly unlikely, but still), consider resale option.

Damn! There are so many Help Me posts nowadays thats its hard for anyone to keep track. At such times even genuine cases get overlooked.
Hope the Bajaj guys restore your bike(which they mostly do). And as animeher said, keep the resale option open.Comment

caliber/115 are the only quality products from bajaj ........nothing before ...none later..........trully UNSHAKABLE.........
actually i have already spent about 2.5k on her ......... got cone set changed (twice) .... front fork overhauled.......& rear shocks changed.......
hope she gets into good shape ....... i dont wanna sell her.........

1. There is some 'TAK-TAK' noise coming from the steering / handle while braking ( i.e. when the forks get compressed and de-compressed ).
I have got the fork-oil, fork-springs & the steering-cone replaced, but the problem still continues.
Also, the steering / handle is very unstable ( shakes badly ) over rough roads.
It is a steering cone issue. Play occurs when steering cone wears down. If you have changed the steering cone using genuine parts, get it tightened.
Also check for proper fork oil level.
2. The rear wheel feels very unbalanced. It feels like if I am riding on a punctured tyre.
Get your rear wheel bearing checked.
Get your swingarm bush checked.
Get you wheel spokes alignment checked.
3. The drive chain makes a lot of noise while pick-up. It sounds as if it is hitting the chain cover. I checked for the slackness, but that is not the cause here. Can this happen because of sprocket play?
Get your chain+sprocket checked.
Get your chain cover checked for any bend or misalignment which may cause it to rub against the chain.
4. Vehicle gives a jerk when I open the throttle as wel as when I close it. This has been happening for a long time, but now it has become really very intense. Could this be related to the chain issue?
Can be caused by worn out chain.
Get you idle speed checked. It should not be set too low.
Make sure your carb is not tuned too rich.
5. The Gearbox has always been rough makes a 'KHAT' noise when shifting. Also, the top speed in 1st gear is very low.
Get your clutch alignment checked. There should be sufficient play for the clutch to engage or disengage fully. Also do not ride using half clutch. If the engine oil is too old get it replaced.
hey...........n ne1 cud suggest me a good bajaj service centre / a nice mechanic in or around thane city..........

BAD NEWS GUYS!!!!!!!!!
i called up bajaj sc........they told me that they will get shut by 6pm.......and they are asking me to come on this sunday..........now i had a word with the manager who asked me to come today and now he isnt there...........that shows his seriousness!!!
i cant ride her like this for FOUR MORE DAYS!!!
should i go for another SC??Comment

@c sbk............sorry dude.............if i was a bit rude........i hope you understand my situation here............my bikes is in bad shape.........tried to get her fixed from my regular mechanic (who does excellent job with regular serviceing!!!)..........but dont know how/why he screwed up this time!!!..........took her bake to him twice....but of no use........he has messed up badly........also no one came up with any help over here for a long time ........ so i got a little upset.......please excuse me for that.........
..........i have found xBhp as a blessing ......... i didnt wanna hurt any one...........
anyways.........i will be getiing her fixed up this sunday (fingers crossed).....lets see if this time........i could get my bike back to life!!!!Comment

hey guys..................here is a small script from my life................this part of my life is called DEFINITELY MAYBE!!!
...............as the title suggests.........this is what have been going on in my mind for the last one week..(actually three months to be more specific!!!!!!!!)..............my bike.........yes that lovely CALIBER 115 that my DAD got for both of our use on my 17th b-day...............my 1st love............was upset with me for GOD knows what reasons (now actually i too know
).............but she was definitely not happy with me & man my girl for sure has got some attitude i must say..............cause the way in which she lets u know shes upset is sooooooooooooo heartbreaking............
ok ............... now coming to the point..............my bike was facing a lot of problems (which were not HUGE actually .........as i thought.........cause i wanted her to be in perfect condition)...........there were a lot of problems that i was facing ...........(read my earlier posts)

coming back to my script..........
i had given my bike to Shreeram Bajaj SC - Thane(W)...........last sunday..........after three days.............my bike is back & is now in good shape...........IN PINK OF HER HEALTH (if i could say)..............they have done a good job (although not satisfied with their attitude........typical SC wallahs!!!)..........but they did a commendable job on my bike...........and now i dont get nightmares thining about parting with her...............6year old relationship wasnt gonna end like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........i am happy to get her back.....................
