  • Wheel wobble classic 500

I own a Classic 500 Stealth black and I have done 3500 kms on it. Recently, the front wheel started wobbling a but was fixed by tightening the spokes.

But after a brief gap it has started again. Any help?

What is the air pressure? Was the bike parked in rain?

Just got checked and found the front air pressure was 40psi instead of 22psi! this could have caused some stress on one of the spokes. I'll just wait for the wobble to increase some more before getting it tightened again. Mechanic suggested to do this.. Not good to get the wheel opened so frequently..

            1. Check your wheel bearing, rock it while on the main stand.
            2. Check too see if your spokes are tensioned right, just drag screw driver around the spokes and make sure all of them make the same sound.
            3. Keep the air-pressure right at 28 PSI.

3.5k on the odo is way too young for problems to pop up.

My CT100B has spokes, they've never been serviced to date and I've belted the crap out of them weighing over 100kg's and the thing still runs fine, so do make sure your motorcycle is fine, if not claim warranty and get the part replaced.

Anyplace where I can get checked if the rim is bent? Service centre guy and mechanic outside both said that spoked wheels have common problem of loose spoke after a period on a regular basis

You could keep a reference marker next to the rim and spin it, if the distance increases or the rim rubs against the market then that translates to a rim warp.

Not sure about what the folks at RE say, but from my experience you seldom experience a loose spoke, especially on a brand new motorcycle.

I've ridden along side a Bullet 500 on the GQ circuit, we covered around 8000 km's and the Bullet faced a few problems but loose spokes weren't one of them, just saying.
