  • Engine noise past 40kmph

    Hello xBhpians,

I have procured a 2016 Pulsar 150 recently with 25k kms on odo. Everything seemed just fine but the engine produces some kind of tuk tuk sound past 40 kmph I don't know what's the issue. It sounds like an insect rattling inside the Engine. I don't know how to describe the noise it make in words. I asked a local mechanic about this problem he said that bore is worn and needs to be replaced but I don't trust him at all. I can't believe the bore wore out so soon. So someone please help me! And also the sound keeps on increasing when I increase the speed.

    Thanks .

Seems borekit needs replacement , If the bore has gone then don't go for the Bajaj ORIGINAL Bore kit .
Because some local Mechanics can do the lathe job for bore instead of buying the original borekit !! Get the job done by a reputed ASC/Mechanic.

PS: Ensure that you're changing oil periodically !

      Cheers,
      RIDE SAFE .

Don't worry bro that noise may be produced by faulty timing chain and tensioner my 150 ug4 was also producing tak tak + tik tik noise like connecting rod bearings are gone, but after some research
I bought timing chain, timing chain tensioner
And timing chain guide and went to my machanic for replace those things and sound is surprisingly gone
And souns like its a new bike it will cost you 600-800 ₹ with pasrs and labour charges my video can help you

Yes drive chain make noise with its cover so i removed that but need lubricant at every 500 kms and cleaning at every 1000 km and my first timing chain was replaced at 80000kms with new block piston valve set clutch plate and balancer and now i have driven it 153000 km and its 2nd replacement of timing chain, tensioner and guide only pulsar parts are not very costly so it is easy to maintain i'm very happy with that my bike is 9year and 3 month old but i do long rides of 500 kms in 8-9 hrs without any problem only one thing i need is better headlight illumination so can you help me to do any mods in headlamp

I don't know what happens past 60kmph because I have never gone beyond 60kmph I feared that it would worsen the condition of the bike

if something is damaged it would hamper performance and engine sound at 40km ph or 80kmph doesnt matter what is the speed is ,in higher gears.

Do go above 60kmph on a wide open road ,with proper riding gears to check.
