  • rx 135 rebore n crank help

hey friends my boring on rx 135 4s was not done properly
its giving a lot of trouble. There is noise from the piston area and also the engine.
I am worried, which new piston i should take and what rebore should be done on it
and is a new crank needed?

I want the increase the cc of the bike and increase the torque ,any suggestions ?

also the petrol tank of ma rx is rusted, do i need to replace it?

what harm will it cause if i use a rusted tank

    thanks in advance
    pls reply
Hope is a good thing ,

if you are going to keep it better rebore with new pistons, rings, bearings, crank rebild with new con rod etc..

rust in the tank will eat your piston rings , cease the engine and finally loss in compression . go for a new tank or a second hand tank free of rust.afterwards change fuel tap, lines and overhaul carb.

What over size pistons are you using right now, ie : 0.25,0.75,1mm,2mm.

The stock size is 58mm, if you start reboring you have to do in 0.25,0.50,0.75,1mm,2mm, from 1mm over size piston (thats 59mm) your cc starts going up, i would rather suggest don't do it you have enough life left in your bore, just go to yamaha dealer buy 1st oversize(thats 0.25) ART piston kit costs make 1,200/- and contact atul for the rebore job.

if the bore is not worse you can go for a 0.25 size, or else you may have to go for 0.50. a good mechanic can advise after checking the clearence

both screws are on thr left side of the carb. the screw which projecting outside is the idle screw.if you tighten it ,engine will run fast, the small screw which is sitting inside the carb body is the air screw.also you will find your accelarator cable play adjusting screw on the top of the carb (at the point where the cable enter the carb)

first tighten the idle screw so that the engine speed is increased to say 3k rpm

second tighten the air screw fully(but lightly with a screw driver, no over tightening ), now the idiling speed reduces considerably

now unscrew the airscrew 1 1/2 turns(till you get max rev.s). afterwards unscrew the idle screw till the point were your engine idle slowly but smoothly with the headlamp on.

if you think there is no enough play in the accelarator , tighten the adjusting screw on the top of the carb and viceversa

well i saw TWO other SCREWS which were inside the carb body on the left side

one was on the right side of idling screw
one was at the bottom side of the carb

which is the air screw then??
