This is Ketan once again and some of you already know I own a R15.
I had this thought in my mind since quite some time but never gave it a shot. Reason being I didn't knw the price.
Thing is, ever since I came to know that ABS can be fitted to any Indian motorcycle having disc brakes I wondered why not try it for our machine? But never thought over it that seriously because I didn't know the price of the device. I used to think it must be way way expensive.
A few days ago, Beruoist posted a link of Sniper Automotives who store ABS for Indian bikes. Price they said is Rs.1500/- or so.
Looking at the price, I can afford it. But the question is, is it reliable? I mean it shouldn't be that I fitted it today and within 2-4 months it's busted.
I already know the benefits of ABS and how it helps prevent wheel lock and thus chances of crash due to wheel locking.
So I have a few questions here. Please answer them so that I can go ahead and think of fitting one to my machine.
1) Do these after market ABS do their work? Are they good?
2) Are they relaible? I mean how long do they last for? Any particular servicing required? If the servicing is very expensive then I'll have to rethink.
3) I heard these systems weigh around 1.2-1.5Kg. Will this increase in weight affect the overall performance of the bike?
4) Any other side effects of ABS on the entire machine?
5) This may sound silly, but on which wheel does this device fit? I mean, we on R15 have 2 discs. So one which disc does this fit? Or on both?
6) Any good brand? I have heard of continental or something of that sort. Any other?
7) Ultimately, where in Mumbai can I get one? Sniper is one I know now, anywhere else?
Has anyone yet tried such ABS on their machines? Not just R15, but any machine?
Waiting for a good response because I am seriously thinking of getting this fitted to my bike.
Thanx in advance.

atleast for me!!!
, and using ABS will only delay the time taken to start skidding
This could be the drivers perception, but the bike did stop very smooth even in cases of emergency braking, most of the times.
