    Dear Mr. Girish,
Thank you for taking the time and effort to write to us. At the outset, I would like to categorically state that the problems experienced by the person are not due to Shell fuel. We maintain a rigorous QC process to test our fuels along the supply chain and have put in place fool proof controls that help us deliver quality fuels to our customers.
Shell fuels are formulated with special detergent additives which help clean out inlet valve deposits, which can lead to better responsiveness and improved fuel economy. These are Shell proprietary additives which have been developed by Shell to aid engine performance by protecting from wear and tear/cleaning out deposits. Shell has over 50 years experience in the research and development of fuels and this knowledge helps us to ensure that our fuels can help keep your engine in top condition for reliable performance on the road.

Without complete data, it is difficult to ascertain the reasons for the problem faced by the person. The processes we follow to ensure quality make us extremely confident that it is not due to our fuels.
We look forward to serving you on our forecourts again and are sure you would continue to benefit from using Shell's international quality fuels.
    Best regards
    Shell India
    Expectable,
I still have to try out some other fuel to verify that its due to shell only.
I'll post back when i use something else

Tried IOC fuel (Jai Hanuman Service Station, Nagawara, ORR) in my car after nine months. I got approximately same mileage (14.45kms) as I get with Shell unleaded. No difference noticed in performance/refinement either.

Topped up my bike too today with IOC fuel. I am noticing no changes in performance/refinement either. Will have to wait to know the mileage figure.

I guess engine running rough is something to do with the engine's state of tune instead of the fuel used. Factory stock settings are very lean and even service centre guys tend to tune the carbs for efficiency even though one may request them to tune up the carbs for power. The main reason for using Shell gas is that its clean and unadulterated. Even BP pump gas (regular) is pretty good.
A good practice is to engage the bike in 1st/2nd gear and without starting the engine, push and pull the bike in gear with the clutch lever pressed. This improves oil flow in and around the clutch and warms up the clutch too. Then I uaually start the motor and warm up the bike for a minute or so. This helps in sufficiently warming up the oil.

U can try different bunks near your home & see which will suit your bike best & stick to it.

                @ Topic

Recently their has been a New shell petrol pump in Chamarajpet ( next to Shanti Sagar) So I thought of checking it once & filled 200rs of petrol... & to my surprise my bike gave almost 3-3.5kmpl more than what I generally used to get with IOC & also bike felt a wee bit smoother ( specially in Higher Revs).

Now yesterday I have filled 10ltrs to check it thoroughly lets see how it does..

Good to know that shell worked well in your case too.
I tried using other petrols(bp,hp) but my bike just didnt have that same pick up which i used to get with shell. couldnt check if mileage was more with other petrols though.

Isnt shell petrol supposed to be the same at all petrol bunks ?? atleast within b'lore or something.
I fill at vittal mallya road or old madras road.

I filled 5 Litres of Shell Unleaded (bunk near Lalbagh) in a dry tank. It covered 103kms before coming to reserve. Mileage works out to be (103/3.5litres, RX100 has 1.5 litres reserve capacity) 29.4kmpl.

I think I should wait for reserve-to-reserve reading.

My car though, loves Shell It returned 15.23kmpl Never got as much. Last time I filled in IOC I got 14.54.

This is India & anything can happen here..

Mysore road has 2 big shell bunks & I have tried both of Em & every time I used to get low mileage.

Now my 10lts should give me a fair idea to continue shell or get back to IOC

Further to my above post & to my surprise I have got almost 10 kms a ltr more than what I used to get than in IOC this time around with shell, my normal mileage with IOC is 35kmpl & this time with 10ltrs of shell it worked out to be close to 45kmpl.

Now I have added 5 ltrs more & need to confirm again if I am getting 45

Well I have completely surrendered my bike to Shell Unleaded Petrol. My bike is riding excellently. I have also used Shell Helix 5W40 engine oil n my bike is silent, starts at once in the mornings and feels and accelerates better than before. My bike is a HH Hunk, doing 27000kms.
