Thread approved.
130 km/h may be a bit too steep for a 150cc... even 200cc motorcycles will find themselves in a strenuous condition on those speeds. For something of that sort, some upward of 300cc may be the way to go. If 110 km/h is an option, the R15 V3 may do the trick... but only after breaking your wrists and back. I hope you get the gist.

Gixxer 250 will provide you the best balance of power and mileage. It will easily touch 130kmph . But continuous riding at that speed is dangerous for both the bike and the biker. If you are happy with low mileage then go for 390 duke or Yamaha R3 or ninja 300.Originally posted by TheExpendble View PostI have a daily commute of 50 km up and 50 km down. Highway 130 kmph+. Is it that bad for the engine? Bike will only be taken alternate days.

the price would be higher. Also r15 v3 is perfect for me for the price and design. Just worried on the engine lifeOriginally posted by #bpk View PostGixxer 250 will provide you the best balance of power and mileage. It will easily touch 130kmph . Engine life will be compromised. Ride between 80 to 100 kmph for long term reliabilityOriginally posted by TheExpendble View Postthe price would be higher. Also r15 v3 is perfect for me for the price and design. Just worried on the engine life

I wonder how are you able to reach 130kmph in 150cc bike.
I ride Gixxer 155cc bike and maximum speed achieved till date is 123kmph.
However, if you are riding any two wheeler vehicle of lower cc at high speed for longer duration, there will be an impact on engine life.

AFAIK There is no relation between CC and high speed. It all depends on how much power and torque the engine extracts.I've clocked 134 with my unicorn 160 and one of my friend clocked 140Kmph in Apache 160 both are stock bike with no mods.

A BIG NO : Even R15 V3 would exhaust soon if you do this. Upgrade to 200cc or more.

That's speedo indicated top speed. Real topspeed is lower. gixxer 250 and RS 200 in the budget 200cc segment can hold a true topspeed of 130 kmph easily.Originally posted by SoloByHeart View PostApache 160 yes, I have driven till 130kmph. But unicorn is something I doubt man.

That's why it is called unicorn, it is all fantasy and fiction.Originally posted by Zapps View Post134-140 kmph on Unicorn, you're joking right?
I remember in 12th standard my friend purchased an apache 180, and the odo used to record the top speed, he showed me top speed of 157 kmph! and that too regularly according to him, that was the amount of speedometer error the bike had, in reality i think the bike must have reached 120-130 kmph at mostPeace

Haha, yeah! Well I remember WOTing on my Honda Shine, on a canal road with no v hicle in sight. I can faintly remember, but with a pillion the speedo indicated 110+ speeds, I'll be bold to say it could have also been 120+.
There's the usual speedo error and then again my French friend tells me all cars in France too have a speedo error, intended to keep people safe, so there's that.Originally posted by yashasvi View PostThat's why it is called unicorn, it is all fantasy and fiction.
