After Market Oil Cooler for Unicorn
hey guys,
my uni is heavily modified and still i have that beast inside me for more power..looked up some engine oil coolers in karol bagh..Are they worth going for??coz i care bout my bike a lot even if i have got a huge deal of mods..If U haven't Seen GOD, U haven't gone fast enoughTags: None

oil cooled ?
hey ,
pardon the ignorance guys ,but I'm assuming that we're talking about the engine of the unicorn and isn't it air cooled ? so why the oil cooler
? is it for some other use ?
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Also why do you think it needs an oil cooler?

if the oil lines are traveling fron out side of the barrel yes then it certainly can be connected up with a oil cooler. though IIRC have not seen anything like that on my CBZ and neither on the ZMA. so that means if the honda unicorn engine is same it may not have them on there aswell. so the moral of the story is that the oil cooler would be tough job on the HONDA. its easy if you had a platina or a bullet or a HUDI BABA|NO WHEELS|

regarding topic : Its so difficult to fit that oil cooler in your bike .. coz oil pump in your bike directly pumps oil through internal passages ..

what if one reroute the drain bolt passage to top & inside of cylinder head and radiator in between them with a pump driven electrically or mechanically .. :P .. just an idea ..Last edited by viv.nomad; 06-27-2009, 02:17 PM.

As far as I know you need a rotary oil pump for that kind of circulation. I don’t know about little bikes but lawnmowers have a sliding pump along with a splash lubrication system – pretty sure all those bikes are the same.
How heavily modified is your bike? Clip-on handlebars? Nothing is impossible to install, but an oil cooler is impractical.

sorry cudnt answer ur queries sooner, my bike has iridium plug,k&n, free flow, splitfire cord, 125 jet, clutch plates of the zma but no clip on bars gasolinejunkie..
...the tyres are the stock size..it cud seem impractical but i just put it here to find out the common view on the idea..n btw in an engineer's dictionary, there's no word called impossible..i am talking about a part that wud cool the engine oil ONLY..something like the p220 or p200..every bike's engine has a built in mechanism for circulation of oil throughout the engine..if it's sufficient to drive the oil through the cooler, very gud but if it isn't, then i wud surely need to install a pump for the purpose..dangerous and hefty job i suppose for my bike..and as desideep bro said, if the oil pipes were out, the job would have been a lot easier..i haven't yet gone for the details of installation but wud give it a thought once i have sufficient funds built up..
