  • Shogun Performance advice

hi, i recently picked up a second hand suzuki shogun, '97 model. my main intension was to mode it to its max. like mainly porting it and fitting a chamber. i would like to know what other things i could do e respective of its fuel consumption or any other disadvantage. so i just wanted to kno what could be the craziest things to do to make this bike as fast as possible.
    thanks

First get as many as pistons and rings.. we can talk about modification later.. because you are going to need many if you mod it to max and ride it to the potential it has been modded.

You can start with replacing stock filter with Uni filter[ with bigger jets] and get a chamber..

PS: Later you can add wings

        Mod list for your SHOGUN
        1.Uni filter
        2. Size of Scavenging Port change
        3. Spark Plug
        4. High performance Ignition Coil and it's cable.
        5. Carbon Fiber Reed Valve.
        6. Forged Piston
        7. Titanium Con Rod.
        8. Exhaust canister with expansion chamber.
        9. Change in rear sprocket (if u want to make it for dirt then higher size sprocket. Shogun is good for low range and somehow mid range but not good for high range.)
        10. head shaving.
        11. Re-Jetting (or change in carb "VM" size with the main jet)

Let me know the power after you done....If there is anything left in the list then suggest me.

Head Shaving means removing or decreasing the surface of head from bottom side to increase the compression.

if ur serious about performance. plonk on a shaolin bore and a rod and go for a professional port setup

and btw, when using an expansion chamber, a high comp head will cause detonation..so thats not entirely correct..number one mistake most people do

                      cheers

which con rod is best for fitting shaolins bore to shogun. TVS company has not released con rods

hard to comment. You do get full cranks though. But If I'd get a sample rod, would be worth checking
