    Carb Query -- Upjetting

    Hi Folks,
    Can someone help me find answers to a few questions around Jets/Carbs?
    1. What size jets does a P180/200/220 use?
    2. Does Bajaj use UCAL carbs? Or is it Mikuni?
    3. Will these jets fit a Mikuni carb? Generally speaking, do jets from carbs of different brand fit across these carbs?

    I'm looking for size 100 mains & 22.5 pilot jets for the Mikuni BDS26 carb. I've been wanting to get these jets for a while now to upjet my comet and finish the BMC AF, Freeflow & Upjet job. I already have the first 2. The last ones are hard to find in Pune.

      P150 and P180 use Mikuni carbs, BS26 and BS29 respectively IIRC, while the new P220 DTSi uses UCAL 32mm carb.

        All these jets are interchangeble with any carb like mikuni, mikarb, keihin but keihin carbs need small diameter jet doh the thred size is same like others. Only diff jets are for spaco or dellorto. Coz they both are same and can be interchangeable. but not suitable for mikuni, mikarb, keihin. Why do u want pilot jet? Call me on 9822212496, I keep jets for re-jetting purpose. I am from Pune.

          by the way BMC filter not a bad choice I hope u got the recharger kit for that. otherwise u will have to use K&N kit for that.....

            that means i can use a pulsar main jet from the mikuni on my keihin carb??? (discover 125) or is it better for me to try and source the pulsar150 carb on my bike for an overall gain in performance???

              As I said Keihin main jet is suitable for micarb or mikuni but mikuni or mikarb is not suitable for keihin at least in Honda vehicles.
              due to float body chamber is narrow to fit the jet. and Honda products are with keihin. Though the threads are same but there is a height and diameter difference. Go to honda showroom and get the jet from unicorn model if Disco125 is with small jet size then unicorn jet will work bcoz unicorn has got 110 size.

                    Mikuni carbs are made in India by Ucal. Its branded as Ucal Mikuni.
                    Only the first gen Fiero carbs untill 2001 were made by Mikuni Corp, Japan. Later ones in the pulsar, apache, RTR, Fiero etc are all made by Ucal Mikuni.
                    The Comet uses a 26mm downdraft CV.
                    You can source the 100 main from a shogun. Its the same thread. 22.5 pilot is also available in plenty, but I doubt you need that size.

                      @ CHINMAY- The main jet size for the unicorn carb is 115 not 110..if anybody from delhi, there's a shop in karol bagh dealing only in carb products..paradise for upjetters..its in gali no 11..u name it and u get it..

                        There was another person on the forum (shubhanker) who just told me that keihin jets cant be used for mikuni carbs because sizes differ. I had posted two photographs. one of my stock P180 UGIII's 117.5 sized jet and another picture of a ZMA's 125 sized jet. both look the same to me in diameter.
                        If according to what SHUBSHANKER said that Keihin jets are smaller in size, that means i have fitted a jet which is almost the same size as my Pulsar's jet. Correct?
                        I am thinking of fitting the P220- 2009's jet. Not sure if I will be able to get it.

                        please note: after re-jetting (believe it or not) my mileage has increased . I swear.

                            the carb cud be available but it wud take sum tym coz the bike is new in the market..also i don't think the carb would directly fit any other bike.

                              Don't worry Recharger Kit means cleaning kit for Cotton air filters. I keep all the time with me coz my customers uses K&N.
