  • [Photo Feature]: Low Ground level of Apache RTR

    Hi,

    I have recently bought a Apache RTR 160 and i have experienced something annoying ;

Most of the times when i go over a speed breaker there is usual sound that comes from the bike, that because if the engine protector ( or may be the stand ) hits the speed breaker. when talked to the service center engineer he said that this is a "COMPANY'S FAULT "

Do you guys who have same model suffer from the this issue ?
Will this affect the bike in the future RUN ?
let me know in case if anyone can help me out from this.

I did face this once or twice on my Apache and that was on very uneven grounds. The stand touched... but never on speedbrakers... maybe ur stand is a bit loose and thus touching the speedbreakers... can get it a bit up...

        Its not a Companies fault.......
those Speedbrakers constructed by Local Bodies will be of uneven heights.......

TVS would have done all types of R&D.... and few of my friends has RTR and no one faced this issue.....May be the Local bodies in your area are constructing Speedbreakers like mountains.....

              Solution?
Ride you bike more than 30 kmph to literally jump over the bumpers! and stand up when u do it!

You can do one thing to avoid main stand scraping against speed breakers.
There is a stopper below the Silencer its metal with rubber cushioning, just decrease the gap between the stopper and the silencer.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

In that case, the pillion would be flying in air.

My friend faced the same problem on his RTR. It is due to those cement speed breakers which are very high and they scrape against the engine guard.

Just try to take the bike as slow as possible through these bumps to avoid damage.

I have never faced this problem till now......Its not the engine gaurd that hit the ground but its the centre stand! And for me it hits only when there is a heavy pillon!

You can certainly know if the engine guard is grounding up or not by looking out for the scratch marks out there.Simple!!

I think it might be the stand which is scraping!!
