@vijaykrishna- there's no use of k&n if u dont rejet..ur bound to have problems...
@samarth-one of the main reasons for bike not revving higher is rich mixture..although its not the only factor. .check out a thread by sam92 in 'help me' by the title HP or KN Filter..i have explained the method for checking the mixture..

Does the pulsar hit the rev limiter in 5th ever on top gear on road?
I had a 180 dtsi ug2 completely stock and very well maintained.
could hit the limiter in 1st 2nd and 3rd easily 4th with a lot of road. but never really worth it and 5th never went much above 9k speedo showing around 120 (was watching the road and hanging on for dear life.)

It does, takes time, but you hit 127 on speedo. UG3 btw.

Also, the same problem is in a friends' bike too... by the name of Pavan.C, in Xbhp and many others too...

I'm beginning to feel that Bajaj has ignored us. I complained multiple times, nothing happens at Service Station. He just loosened the tappets, nothing happens...?

I guess those HH fans are not wrong, when they say that Bajaj is not worth it ...
Don't curse your bike for that man. Curse the Goddamned service centre people.

Thanx for mentioning BTW, I am stuck at 101km/h. Nothing seems to improve it. Will clean the air filter one more time.

No offence ment, my doubt is, if KN is added without a bigger jet the mixture is supposed to be lean not rich.
I would like to add a few check points in addition.
              1. Check the plugs and if possible post some pics.
              2. A very small puncture to the diaphram of the carbs restrict the full opening of the slides. This inspection has to be done by a good tuner not some road ride wala.
              3. There is a breather tube from the top of the carb which might be clogged/jammed etc.
              4. Install the stock air box and see how it picks up speed.(actually u r supposed to do this first).
              5. Make sure both the plugs are working fine(second check).
              6. Other reasons include damaged valves, cam, low compression etc.
              Best of luck
              Anu

It hits off the revv limiter @ 127 and sometimes at the max 128, All the stock owners who claim Ug3's doing 130+ and all is a bogus claim.
It doesnt take much time hittin the rev limiter dude, Just a straight stretch of 1.5kms is more than suffice on a normal day with not so wind..

                @ Thread starter,
Try swapping the CDI as somebody suggested and also it might be because of a kaput diaphragam inside the carb, one of my friend was also facing the same problem but later it was found that diaphragm inside (the rubber thing) was damaged and that was not letting the bike revv beyond certain rpm.
                Fun Starts at Redline!!!

Hey guys my prob is that i can hit the rev limiter on gears upto the 4th gear. How to check if its a CDi Problem? No friend of mine will volunteer to give his CDi for testing. Also, If I pluck out the carb, how should I go ahead with cleaning it? I intend to use some petrol to clean it. How to check for blockages in the intake?

Use ABRO or CVC or WYNNS spray to clean the carb.

Its not a CDI problem for sure..You have a giant airleak somewhere..Thats all...for sure

Well .. for starters i am reverting to stock as of now and see if the problem gets sorted.
Will also get the carb checked out as i have a stuck float and when i keep the bike on side stand petrol leaks from the carb.

remove the carb take it home open it up remove the jets/float/diaphram slide...give it all a good wash and wait till its all dired...fix it back
your good to go...make sure not to leave anything loose..nor overtighten anything..
