Additionally, check if parts like center stand, side stand, fuel tank and side covers are properly fitted.
have completed 40k KMS on P180 and hearing some noise from my pulsar even at neutral - something like a plate is getting grinded. (can only be heard when low rpm)
-- happening only if the bike is hot after running some distance >5km run in city traffic - and not happening every time.
any ideas what this could be ? visited mechanic but that time the sound wasn't coming even if revved and all..
sound was sothing that is coming for every round etc.

Re: Noise from Pulsar 150's Engine - Need Suggestion
I have pulsar 150 ug4 2009 bro and i was also suffering frome kit kit sound frome past 2 years all local machanic says it is normal and a.s.s. guys also and in previous month the noise was increase and sound like tak tak tak near the piston i was thinkig that there is something serious but after some research i changed the timing chain and adjuster (tensioner) and after that noise is gone and boom it souds like new one check this out before and after soundOriginally posted by Ayush Singh View PostHi Members,
Yesterday I got my 70,000+kms run Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-i UG-2's (Spoke Wheel) engine overhauled.
The mechanic opened the engine and got the following parts replaced:
1. Timing Chain
2. Tensioner
3. Clutch Plates + Steel Plates
4. Clutch Plate Cover (Round cover with grooves in it)
5. Both Valve
6. Piston Rings
I also got clutch wire replaced as suggested by mechanic.
However after assembling the engine and putting Castrol Active engine oil, the response which I got was nothing great to talk about. Changing clutch plate gave good pickup, and new piston rings got me rid of smoke from exhaust at high rpm, but it was not worth the money I spend getting these things into their place. Including service charge at authorized service centre I paid something around Rs. 2600.
The problem which I realized today was when the engine was accelerated, in between 5000-6000RPM the engine would make a loud noise. Accelerating further would decrease the noise but the RPM meter would fluctuate and shomehow reach 10000RPM.
I'm unable to understand what this loud noise is all about. The mechanic tried to fool me by saying that the noise is coming from the body, and that I'll have to shed another Rs.1000/- to fix various components in the body, but the noise is like a large truck's at full throttle. Also the engine has prominent vibrations even at 4500RPM.
I certainly want to get rid of all these problems. I'm pissed over the mechanic, and I've already exceeded my budger for maintenance this month. Still I want this noise to be over without me costing much.
Please suggest what could be causing this loud noise.
Thanks
