@Zayn - an HID cannot increase or decrease the mileage of any bike .the hid is powered from the battery and it has no co-relation to engine .

Dude, my friend, what's wrong with you. HID can never do that. HID kit is attached to the battery and battery has nothing to do with mileage.

there is no relation between the fitting a HID and the bike's mileage...who's teaching you all this?...
oh....maybe the mileage decreases because the extra light will make you ride faster!!!....

Hindi may be the national language, but xbhp is a platform where people communicate via a global language, i.e. English. I do not want to see another post in ANY language other than English in ANY thread except the regional G2G ones.

                Are we clear on this?

Whats wrong with you guys. I am asking suggestion but talking something else.

Bye the way, the K&N filter is 1700 rs. I thought it was reasonable but later when enquired with my friends they saying its costly. The problem is while going for tour, the engine loses its torque and the pickup drops. I think the engine heats up pretty fast. There is no other problem. But i think its major. While driving in Ghat section this would be really big problem. Dont you think.

Factory fitted air-filters are designed in a way that filters maximum possible dirt particles from the air before in enters the engine, the main drawback here is the factory fitted air filters restrict air flow to the engine because of its high filtration capacity and thickness. Here is where the K&N fills the gap, It provides the ideal balance of filtration and air flow, the end result being better engine performance and efficiency, you might be wondering if this increase in air flow would sacrifice air filtration. It doesn't. The secret of the K&N filter is in its material, if you have seen one, you would know that it’s made of something different.

The proper AF or rich mixture cools the piston crown. The lean makes hot crown. So we can say petrol is also act like coolant for engine.
Lean mixture always cause lot of problem.
                    1. Engine Starving.
                    2. Over Heating.
                    3. Power Loss.
                    4. Mileage problem.

                    Difference between R-1060 & RC-1060
both are same in dimensions wise
R-1060 has a rubber cap which comes for Rs1690 + you need to up jet it depend on your area
RC-1060 has a chrome cap which comes for Rs1790 + you need to up jet it depend on your area...(i think that jetting would cost you around Rs250)
you will feel easy on road while cruising at 80km/h so go for it.

I am planning to do some changes to my FZ16. It has run 6000 kms & due for 3rd Service. I was thinking of changing the airfilter with K&N(or any other good ones), wanted to change my sparkplug with Bosch twin head & also the headlight with new white colour. What i wanted to know was what are the stuff i need to take care of before this & required settings for my bike, so that the performance should increase but not letting go the milage. I bike gives avg. 43 in city & 50 in highway.

It would be helpful with your comments & also do i need to change anything else that i forgot.

                      THANKS IN ADVANCE
dude.. personal experience.... i installed k&n and upjetted my old bike... end result: fried my piston rings... now the K&n has become a "pen stand" on my table....
from my experience, a stock air filter does wonders compared to aftermarket ones.. i too was crazy about the grunt from the bike ... all this lasted only for a few months... later, it became a big headache when the bike was loosing out on the top speed and the engine became a furnace and rough!
and more over a k&n lets more air in... so more dust inside the engine (we all know the level of dust and related crap in out country.. ) how ever the protection mechanism for dust it may be... but with a stock airfilter, its not a problem...

the best thing to do(without touching the engine), that is if you are ready to sacrifice the sexy exhaust of yours, get a tuned pipe... also if you are touring a lot, get a new set of sprockets for the top end...

finally, its yamaha engineering bro!... cherish it... if i were you, i would never even think about a performance mod to it...

if i buy something, it must be worth it.... i dont prefer home made remedies.... i could as well run it without an air filter and use a fine cloth and a rubberband to cover the carbs' mouth..

instead of doing all such things, could use the stock as it is....

i dont say that i'm against k&n or modifications, i jus wat to point out that any mod done, one should feel the surge in it and must not regret later as, "it was better off as stock".... the main thing here is that it must compliment the engine and must not ruin it..

and a menial increment in the pickup+loss of top speed is just not worth it for 2k... i could as well put in another 2k and increase my piston size... now i would atleast feel that there is power....

Let me put is this way you Both UNDEFINEME3 and ZAYN.

if i and a slim lanky guy and i eat 2 Chapaties for a meal with a Katori of Sabji. and that is ample for me and it keeps me good.

what if one day me being the same with same sched and routine. i start shoving 5 chapaties and 3 Katori's of sabji in myself. what do you expect would happen.

let me tell you what would happen. it will give me more energy but guess what i will be facing problems like sore stomach, may be Losemotions or anything else can go wrong.

now what if i start working out at a GYM or go swiming and then feel the need of that extra meal. would that help or not. i will have more capability to digest the extra stuff. cause the need of the body will ask for the same.

same thing is here. you shove a K&N on the bike expecting some thing big to happen no it would not. it would give a little bit of difference but to get the best out of it you have to be enough experienced to calculate the jetting and all that stuff so that the more air that you have given it should be compensated by more fuel aswell.

and main thing dont expect BIG changes with the airfilers man... its just that it helps the bike breath easily.. and that does mean performance gains.
