  • Problem in my R15

I Have purchased brand new R15 on 22nd may,2009. I maintain my bike very carefully, even in engine running period I run it as per manual. Once I touched 135km/h after completing engine running period. Now my problem is in 5th & 6th gear my my bike does not go beyond 8000 rpm though in rest of the gear it behaves normally go beyond 10000 rpm. My service center could not solve it. Do you know what exactly the problem is???

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Does this happen everytime you are in 5 / 6 th gear ? If so thats quite strange. This happened to me once, I slowed down the bike and dropped a couple of gears. Took it back to 5th & the 'problem' had vanished.

        +1 to that..
You need to upshift into 5th or 6th at high revs, to go beyond 8k..
If you're shifting at like 4k-5k, the bike will behave like it is in your case..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Shift gears at 9500RPM and it should not be an issue!
Do tell us if it worked!

sry bro for late reply...... , i shift d gears @9500 rpm......but prob still persist... now the problem is in 5th gear when rpm goes 10000 that time speedo shows 121km/h....after when i shift the 6th gear, rpm comes down to 8000 in full throttle and didnt go beyond that....even at that time speedo shows the same speed 121km/h and didnt increase any.

that probably means you are not making as much power, or making too much drag.

its a small bike and your crouch under the fairing, weight and slope in the road will matter a lot at speeds more than 100.

because you say that the engine runs fine at lower gears, it might me better to look at things like tyre pressures, wheel bearings rider weight and things like that... basically anything that causes drag.

as i told b4...i maintain my byk very carefully. Once i hv touched 135km/h.... i always check all those b4 go for ride u hv mentioned earlier. Even service guy didnt rectify the problem. Is there anyone who face the same problem???
