i am looking forward to go for shell fully synthetic oil on my 2nd service due in 4-5 days.. any comments on it
I dont know about a two wheeler oil from Shell man! which one are you talking about?

        Some pointers though

        (1) Switch to Motul 300V - It makes a hell lot of difference.
        (2) The "Sweet Spot" of 180 is 90Kmph, you can maintain that.. without any worries.
        (3) Take breaks of at least 15 mins after 2 hours of riding, engine does gets stress out in high ambient temperature, especially in afternoon.
        (4) Carry extra screws, nuts, bolts and a Spark Plug.

I remember Mr. Venkat Shyam's words, before we started - "You don't test the bike, the bike tests you" So don't worry at all, enjoy the nature!
+1 Switch to a Ester based Synthetic oil and it will help... Motul 300V or AGIP are good brands!

That is a good habit in case you want your Engine life to shorten by a few years

If I were you I wouldnt switch to Synthetic oil before 3~3.5K on the Odo.... PS: a good idea to change Oil filter with the oil too when you switch to Synthetic....
Highway riding is not just about bikes ability but also yours and in case you are riding in a group, then your joint ability and responsibility... search for threads about Touring guidelines and Art of avoiding accidents... this will definitely help!

@satyenpoojary bro it's shell advance ultra 4t but it's with viscosity of 15w50 which i would not recommend you abhichotu.abhi till your bike run 10k km you should go for Castrol Power1 Racing (4T SAE 10W-40 Fully synthetic) awesome oil used for very higih speed.

dude close ur eyes and ride the bike wil not have any problem..modern bikes air/liquid cooled can do atleast 500kms of nonstop riding (which u can never do) if the bike is in good condition with fresh engine oil..as ur telling ur bike is new dont worry jus change the engine oil and ride ...

atleast i have ridden 280kms(most of the time above 90kph) of nonstop riding and i can guarantee you that nothing will happen to ur bike..

280kms nonstop!! that means you took out everything out of bike and yourself...

well i cannot do continous riding for 280kms...

Your engine goes through a lot of wear and tear in first 3000 odd KMs... you would be required to change the oil very frequently in this period as the engine parts would only get smoother and smoother if being run in correctly.

Synthetic oil will last for much more than a mineral based oil, i.e.
If you change the oil when the oil begins to wear off (which is easily about 4K Kms):
it will mean that the wear and tear stuff will still be inside the engine...causing it more damage

If you change the oil during service:
it will mean that you wasted the oil big time

Also Synthetic oil will hold much and is more viscous and holds like glue so it will not actually help the much intended wear and tear too...

What I have said is just from my limited experience... there is a whole lot of engine dynamics which I cant explain as am a noob in that

thanks for clearing my doubts, will chage to synthetic after 4000kms or on 4th free service now, is it advisable to first opt for semi synthetis and then synthetic, do i have to flush engine for synthetic oil ....

No issues at all. Just stop for about 10 minutes every 100kms. It is good to stretch yourself&cool down the machine too.
You can consider a synthetic oil for better heat management, say the Motul 300V Factory Line 15w50, but it doesn't suit some Pulsars. Do check some good options.

I agree With Pradeep. Just see what your @$$ can sustain, believe me , a Pulsar, or for that matter any other Decent bike is capable of twice as much. A lot of us have done 3-4 hours of continuous riding at speeds of over 80-90kms and the engine was never boiling hot. One fellow from our group attempted an Iron Butt on a Pulsar( my Bad, cant recollect his name!), dont really think that he would have stopped after every 100-150 kms for letting his engine cool off. Dont underestimate your bike, respect her, and she will treat you nicely. Just make sure that the engine is tuned at its best, the Air Fuel ratio, Tyre pressure, chain slack, valve clearence and all, other than that, take her for a spin and she wont Grin!!

i own pulsar180 UG4, but during 1st service of ma bike i asked SC guy to replace oilfilter, but, he said no pulsar under 180 come with oil filter..
i was surprised i asked all guys i can there but answer was the same no oilfilter in P180, even in manual "not applicable" was written after oil filter.... what to do???
