yes TEFLON coating gives you show room shine and to an extent protects your paint from minor scratches and fading.

but make sure the guy who is doing the coat uses TEFLON by DuPONT(check the bottle)
        Smoke rubber,not tobacco.

Teflon coating is definitely better than not having it..
Its usually done by all good Showrooms/SVCs.. Should cost you anywhere from 250-750..
It will only protect your bike from minor scratches (read hairline scratches) & give the bike a glossy appearance (the gloss will fade out slowly).. The coat loses its effectiveness if the bike is kept out in the Sun for long periods.. A coat every 2-3 months will be a nice cosmetic treatment for your new babe..
          Congrats in Advance!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

              I haven't heard of anything called wax-coating..
However, there's wax polish.. Its the polish used on vehicles, to keep them shining & protected from small grains of dust..
Its cheaper than teflon, lasts less longer, & can be done yourself..

You get to hear a lot of things from a lot about people ...like the Earth is flat and bla bla. Don't fall for the Teflon scam, else you will be like the Emperor with invisible clothes...

Just DIY with a good paste (preferable) wax. If it has a UV filter, then even better.

                  Very True!

The teflon coating that we generally get at good Showrooms and SVC is nothing more that a few coats of some waxes and silicon polish. Teflon coating on bikes???? havent seen any bike TELON coated in flesh!

Yes, you can always waste your money by getting a TEFLON coating @ 250-350rs. but is it from DuPont??? anh, cant be.!
Better wax your bike frequently then to get it Teflon Coated!
Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

I agree with you. Learned the heard way.
Teflon coating is just a scam. It only helps to repel water and dust.
If any one wants to seal in the shine and protct the paint work go for lacquor coating. This seals in the shine and saves minor scratchers.

A few spray coats of lacquor and then baking in a temperature controlled
                    chamber is the process.
