1)after somedays of 4th servicing,my bikes selfs blocks..(i dont know how to describe ),even after removing the key the bike takes the self....untill the battery get empty.(i think its battery connection problem)

2)i have changed the oil before 4 days but now the bike display is showing oil symbol blinking.........after 2-3km run everytime.

3)when petrol level goes down,my bike stops like......empty petrol.(when i accelerate quickly it stops like taking air......or what,With some jerks).my frds says its problem of fi.

4)my bikes engine gets overheated(even i cannnot touch it) after 2-3 km driving everytime.

5)rear disc brake sounds like truck's brake(sounds like kiiiiiiiiiii),i have cleaned it 5-6 times, but again and again particles comes in it.

the first few batches of 220 were kind of having problems which were later solved....i have a 09 fi....

      1) get the bike checked again for the battery prob..

      2) i used to get it too.... normally off lately im getting it ...once or twice coz , normally it rains here and rain water triggers the blinking...i stop.switch off bike and then it returns back to normal..no blinking...regularly wash ur bike...humble request

      3) make sure u never go out of fuel...its fuel injected...without proper supply it will definitely jerk... maintain nearly 2 levels of min fuel... or sometimes even 1...don go below that..

4)its a pulsar... ...2kms i ride and engine heats up...not over heating... its normal... as far as the over heat symbol blinks , its fine...keep an eye on that...

      5) my bike is just 4months old..ever since first day the kiiii sound comes.... comes once then automatically it stops. i keep the rear disc clean always. like i said regularly keep cleaning the bike(includes discs) ....

u may post queries here whenever u want... its much better here... most of ur problems we can try to solve here....

the first few queries are peculiar, and im sure only existing owners will be able to answer, with regards to the brake sound. remove the brake shoes, get them scrubbed with a hard sandpaper to roughen them up, and install em back. They will take a few kms to get to grip, but then hopefully that sound should not come.

          1) there is a problem with the started relay your bike will probably have the plastic relay you have to get it changd to the metal one by the pbk guys

2)a oil sensor pigtal was in stalled on my bike which prevents the false readind from showing

          3) if a fi bike runs low on petrol it will stutter also there might be water that is present in the tank.

4)its a 220 cc aircooled mill it is gonna get hot fast if the bike overheats a overheat symbol will appear on the dash

5)when ever the 220's rear brakes gets dirty it makes that squealing sound just open up the rear brake assembly and get it cleaned

About the starter problem, I too faced the EXACT same problem on my 2008 P180UG3. It is the BCU fouling. The BCU needs to be replaced.

              4. Its not a pulsar problem, the thing is that its an aluminium engine and Al is a better conductor of heat, so thats why you feel the heat... Make sure it doesnt get overheat.
If it does make sure to use a good quality engine oil and if possible get the injectors and fuel mapping checkd.

                    (1) I'm 90% sure, it a BCU problem, but it can be a Relay problem as well. Body Control Unit, is a device similar to CDI in looks. Basically, the brain behind all the electrical gizmo's.

If you are not able to take your bike to PBK because of this problem, try removing the Starter Relay. Let the bike crank to start and then disconnect the relay. BCU comes under warranty, else it costs 1400 bucks.

                    (2) Check Oil level in the inspection window, BCU problem may be again. Else sensors.

                    (3) Most probably an "Air Lock" Problem, especially if your bike stalls after say giving a sudden high speed burst. Get it checked.

                    (4) I don't think any you can touch any air cooled bike's engine after riding for say 15 mins or so. If Oil is good and at level, don't worry.

                    (5) Nothing much can be done here, are you sure your disc pads aren't worn out?

Nagpur PBK is supposed to be the only PBK in whole of Vidharba!! Give them a stick, tell them to take the bike for few days and get it done else you will complaint to Bajaj.

                        Hi Mayank,

I bought my 220 from ngp too but did not get it serviced there as i moved to mumbai. I faced all the problems that you have mentioned.

                        1. If the self start keeps running even after taking the keys out, the relay is faulty. The relay will be changed in warranty. Bajaj had introduced a new realy for 220 and all the bikes will be upgraded in warranty. I got my bike's relay changed and never faced this problem again.

                        2. Low engine oil indicator runs all the time on my bike. This has not been cured yet. Just keep an eye on oil level from the glass piece at the bottom of the engine crank case. Change oil in every 2000 kms and strictly use prescribed oil. Forget the indicator.

3.The fuel level indicator is not perfect. It does happen sometimes that petrol tank is empty and the meter still shows 2 bars. If there is petrol in the tank there should not be any jerks. Just get the pipes, that carry petrol to the fuel pump, cleaned.

4.Pulsar 220 never over heats. I have run the bike at three digit figures for 4 hrs at a stretch and it never gave me any reason to complaint. If the engine has been running for more than 15-20 mins u cannot touch the engine of any bike. Thats not the way to check if the engine is overheating. Thankfully 220 has a engine overheat warning. If its not blinking, u can rev it hard.

5.Rear disc break does make sound at times.Cant help it.

                        Drive safe,
                        Saransh.

Fi does have a BCU, it seems that your service engineer is really a fool. BTW if your problems are solved, what was the culprit?

If your engine dies after ripping the bike, have your tried ripping with the tank lid open?

Even incorrect tappet settings (too tight tappet) can cause this too. I had to buy feeler gauge and set the tappets myself to remove this problem! All mechs here set tappet by "feel"!
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!
