it is better to stay with normal bulbs.. Although I have not had personal experience with Osram NB the ones who have used it complain about its bad when it rains.. it seems the visibility is very poor during the rain in white bulbs.. so it is better you stick to normal bulbs.. you can also try osram silver star which is 55/60w & emits yellow shade ( a tad whiter than normal philips) it costs around 120bucks it seems..Originally posted by abdelazeez View Post
Got it. Thanks for your inputs Abhilashabhi12. I'll consider the Avy bulb.
Could someone also point me in the direction of a good white bulb now please?
(Am I harping on the white bulb note too much out here?)
See changing the bulbs & checking it is not a big deal you can try both the options & check which one suits you bettersigpicAll India Permit 1+1

HS1 and H4 are almost the same but only thing that differs is the way bulb holds that too very minor thing. Even the 3 pin connector is the same.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostI guess there is lot of difference between the 2005 and present day Unicorn models wrt to bulbs.
What I have on my 2005 model and it came with HS1 and not H4.
May be he is refering his current set up which is H4 which he states that he has converted to DC.
I'm not saying Osram NB sucks, only the HS1 type 35/35w bulb does. What he is refering is to a different type altogether. HS1 and H4 are not same. H4 are generally used for LCV and above, so; naturally if he had installed one, should be uncomparable to 35/35w. Am I correct?
I hope this clears the confusion.
BTW to the best of my knowledge and experience, all Unicorn's starting from 2004-2009 have H4 bulbs. I do have old (using for experiment) and new reflector unit on bike.
U can put H4 in place of HS1 and vice versa. Probably your bulb is defective or not sure but FOR me 35w, no matter which brand is useless for safe riding. (except HID's
)
Abhi..!!! Your's was not HS1.Originally posted by abhilashabhi12 View PostHmm now I know even i was having something like HS1 ( I am not sure) on my classic CBZ & it was bad as it gets..
Best bet for U bro.. change over to new Reflector of New Gen Unis & Install H4 bulbs
if it is possible..
Else go for a Typical Round doom of Fx or yezdi &put H4 bulbs
M runing on H4 in a Fiero Fx doom & it is way better than stock
HS1 looks like this... Also called H4-HS1..

H4 looks like this...

Well, today I went G.P Road, Chennai it is known for automobile spares. I was suprised that I could not get Philips headlight for two wheelers. When asked at Hardeep Auto - Dealer. He was able to pull some chineese stuff as an alternate. I was not quite convinced with the product. When asked about Philips he said that distributors have not supplied for quite sometime.Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View Post
