I know many people who have rewinded their coil on UNICORN and successfully running 55/60w or 90/100w since a year or 2 without any problem. In Bangalore the place is Ruby Electricals, he charges 950rs for rewinding with custom RR Unit.

Sajan - Now its u r turn to go thru previous posts as I have told this many times - My fren is running a 90/100w on stock reflector on his Unicorn after rewinding.

Dude.. I have a CBZ Classic & I have done the coil rewinding.. I dont know where exactly they do this stuff in Pune but in Bangalore their is a place called ruby electricals who does this.

If the Job is done correctly you can easily run 90/100W bulb on it..

Coming to battery charging - Believe me it hardly increased in my case cos I still feel the horns weak & neutral light flickr when horn is blown.. ( I have a stock 2.5ah batt which is almost 4yrs old )

But rest assured the lighting is 100times better than the stock.

PS - If you plan to get done this Job be very careful with small parts inside the front chain sprocket case like neutral light switch etc, cos I lost one & 15days my bike was leaking oil

          All the very best dude..

Just rewinding the coils wont improve the batt charging rate as its related to RR. RR will regulate the current flow to the batt to optimize the life of batt. 4 yr old batt will flicker the light and the horn will be feable, if its not in an avg condition.

              His headlights are on AC
DC part is untouched and with a 2.5ah battery he is expecting too much to get loud sound from his horns

Shreeni, 2.5AH can support ordinary dual horns provided the batt is good condtn and no extensive usage too.

I used a pair of roots wind tone on my old Bajaj 4S, and roots vibrasonic on my Samurai later I switched to a 5A when I tried a 3 pipe air horn for better perfo. So I think he can do the job once change the batt. 4 year old batt can give power to the indicators and horns hardly.

I really envy ur sealed beams for not melting with a 90/100, for me it took 3 beams within 1 year with less than an hr ride everyday.

Yeah I know but after the rewinding the RR is also replaced with the custom made one.

May be my batt is pretty old & not in good condition cos I feel after the rewinding & putting 100w bulb my horn sound has come down a little

Lo maga.. I am not expecting it to get loud. Actually it has come down in volume when compared to before & after of Rewinding.

PS - Anyway I am not so bothered about Horn Sound Until I can see the road more clearer in front of me

Guys, i had been to a local mechanic for the rewinding thing and he knew the job but he advised me not do it coz it will have heavy adverse effect on the battery(which is true to its point).
So the conclusion is that im CONFUSED
I dont know what to do and on the other hand i want a powerful headlight too.

The mechanic told that there a few better illumination bulbs in the 35w range, is it true ???? Help me ........

If u rewind the coil, how will it affect the batt? Ur stock RR wont let the extra power to the batt any way.The extra power generated can be used for the HL without any issues. As per others in the forum, there are many choosen this for years, and no issues till date.

I have already installed the cutout.....The neutral light keeps on flickering and when I press the brake's the neutral goes dim again....I thought after a long ride the battery would charge up.....Buh still nothing.....Its isnt charging and I have got the same old problem.....

also cutout is just a switch which bypass the load on the switch not the battery,so its a misconcept that cutout will draw less power

My stock 2.5Ah battery is taking load of 2 Air horns from last 7yrs, so rule out that battery is not sufficient thing, thier must be some problem with either your battery or RR or Coil although the later two going kaput is very rare.

Go to a Automobile electrician & get it checked

Exactly, Is it a healthy batt? How old is it. Is it holding the charge? All depends.

check for the batt fuse links for the corrosion.

Will support an air horn if u use it judiciously but 2 air horns or pair of wind tone? or u meant to say 2 air horn pipes?

Cant rule out the possibility of RR fault if the above things are ok.
