2007 P180 Disc Brake

    Thank you. Is the boot kit specific for the pulsar? I mean is it available only at a Bajaj service center? And an approx cost?

    Edit: I went to a BAJAJ spare parts store today. When i asked for the boot kit, they gave me a "Kit" which had the piston washers, 2 pistons, screws, and the rubber washers that come in between the 2 spokes on the outside of the assembly. It was for ~Rs.300. When so many parts were being changed, i thought ill change the brake pad spring. Is does not come in this kit. I asked wether it came with the pads (Rs.130), they said it doesn't. Maybe they did not understand what i needed and were thinking of a spring-spring.

    I think ill give the boot kit a miss. I'll ask that to be changed at the next service or if the bleeding does not give me a good enought result.

    BTW how do i know if a mod did not approve a thread?

      even i am having to understand what is a break pad spring?there is nothing called that.u only needed the rubber parts,and the piston of calipers are not needed,the rubber parts are priced 100 rs approx i think. Trust me its a job of professionals,dont do it ur self,it needs a major amount of experience to do it right.trust me on this one.take the bike to a bajaj auth service station ,tell them u need a complete front break overhauling,give them the parts and sit there and watch as they do it if they allow..thats my opinion though,if u can think u can do it ,go ahed and do it.

        the pad spring, is the clip type thing comes between the caliper and the pads. it is located under the bottom piston.

        BTW emergency question. What type of grease can i use for these components? ie for the calliper guide pins.

          Ok, heres what has been accomplished till now.

          I completely changed the previous fluid (red) to TVS-Girling DOT 4 (straw) and bled it. Now im waiting for a few days of riding vibration to bring the small bubbles in the tube to come up to the reservoir following which i may bleed it again.

          The wheel is no longer sticking.

          I have not changed any boots. I could not unscrew the bolts that hold the two parts of the caliper, they were too tight. So removing the pistons was not possible.

          Cleaned and changed the grease for the caliper guide pins. I used an all purpose lithium grease.

          I will post back if i see any further problems. THANK YOU EVERYONE.
