Problem in Kinetic Honda

Yeah I tried that thread. No jerks of acceleration, Switching off at red lights,etc etc. Although I didn't try the higher pressure in tires thing but apart from that I did them all and still getting less than 22kmpl!! Everyday I ride around 23-24kms from home to office and 50rs of petrol goes swoosh!! Is this all that I should expect or is there some problem with the engine or something??

brothers I have another problem. I guess when You're riding a 13 year old machine and left stranded for the best part of the last 4-5 years, problems come along with the package.
Anyways, The little piece of iron below the seat which locks itself to the tank part when the seat lock is turned has been broken for quite a long time. Hence I'm not able to lock up the seat to the rest of the scooter. Due to this I have two problems :
1. Whenever I'm on speeds of about 60-70 and a bump comes on the road, the seat kinda comes off the tank where it's supposed to be securely locked. So I get a little scared.
2. I'm always scared that somebody may steal petrol from me as the seat comes right off without any use of the key as there is no latch on which the seat shall hold on to.
Now for the remedy, I asked my mechanic about this and He said "there is no way to repair the seat. It is simply broken. But as the foam area of the seat is quite good, I should continue with this seat setup only. Although You can get a second hand seat for about Rs400-800 depending on condition."
Well at that moment, I thought I could live with the faulty seat. But now I think I'll have to get a new seat/repair the existing one so that it would latch on to the tank area.
Guys any help in this regard?? Should I go forward with the second hand seat option?? Is there anyway that the latch on the bottom of the seat can be mounted there again so that I may continue using the original one as it is??

dont get me wrong. scrap the idea of spending so much on this scooterette of yours. save up all the money and buy a decent second hand bike. the reason i am telling this is, i myself have spent so much on a rusty old KiHo that with the amount spent i would have easily got a decent second hand bike.Period
You wont feel you are overspending when you see few hundreds going out of your pocket. But lets say you are spending atleast 400-500 every month or even more to fix even the smaller things. keep alll the money add little more get a finance/ arrange money and get a trouble free bike instead. Since it is still in the running condition Keep the KiHo for the market/shopping use to run around the nieghbourhood.Bikes don't spill oil, they mark their territory.

Well brother the reason I'm using this kinetic is because my mother simply won't let me buy a bike before the result of my exams comes and off-course I have to pass them to be eligible to get a bike. The exams come in may and the result 2 months after i.e. july. So till then I'm just gonna ride this as I simply have no other choice.
So now any advice on the seating matter??

I highlighted the area where there's supposed to be a metalic latch that hold the seat in position. You might notice that that latch was tried to paste back there with M-Seal when It was broken but all those efforts failed. So I'm faced with 2 options :
1. To get this existing seat repaired (which is what I prefer)
2. To get a new/used seat and put it in place of my existing one.
I'd really really like that the existing one could be repaired but if given no option I'd rather spend some bucks and be seated on a seat that's no gonna bounce up and down every time I hit a stupid pothole.
And the mechanic that's been treating my old scoot is the one from the authorized service center or what I think is an authorized service center coz it's written in really big letters on top of the workshop but there's no such jobwork card or service bill facility available back there so It very well may be a local shop that's got Authorized Service Center written on top to lure more customers.

looks like one of the two bolts which hold the latch is broken n stuck . try removing it usin some WD 40 or else it has to removed at a welder , where in that case the seat pan stands a chance to melt..1985 Yamaha RD350 HT

Well I went to my mechanic today and he did a jugaad job and put the latch with just one screw on!!. The seat itself is secure but after a few trys of locking up the seat and opening it up again routine, the screw got a little loose. So now I have to make sure the screw is tightly secure in it's place every morning unless I can come up with a more permanent solution for this.

i guess removin the broken screw shuldnt be a major prob.. u can also try drilling it.1985 Yamaha RD350 HT

Drilling it??..........umm I could've thought about drilling as an option if the screw hadn't been in it and some other non metal thing was blocking my way.......but dude can I drill through the broken screw itself??

Went to 2-3 guys who do welding jobs and stuff, they have those drilling machine + drill bits that can drill through metal. Everyone said that the seat will get ruined if they drill the hole. drilling it carefully will not do any damage.. at the most it will pierce thru the foam which is not an issue. not very complicated at all .1985 Yamaha RD350 HT

nice partha.....it's gud to hear that you revived that machine again, after all it's a two stroke
bro, regarding oil pump, i would suggest you to go for pre-mix as if pump stops working, you can't able to know it and hence forth you end up with engine seizure
And yes one thing i like to remind you that " ENGINE OIL AND 2T OIL ARE DIFFERENT
