  • Rebuilding My Pulsar 180 To Street 180!!!

    Hi Guys again,,,,

    Ok am planning to do some mods to my 2006 P180 DTSI UG 3 and need your help!!

    My previous thread did not get a lot replies probably because the mods were a little impossbile or not practical. In this project I dont mind spending money as this bike was with my friend for about 25 months as I had sold it off and now I purchased it back I dont know why but just purchased it. ok the bike is in a very very sick state. Engine is fine clutch plates are new. lots and lots of bodywork needed:

    List of the mods I plan want to make the bike look like a stunt bike

    1) Change of electricals to full DC
    2) Front and rear tyre change need tubeless
    3) rear disk brake with 220 swing arm
    4) P 220 F speedo console with white R15 type backlight
    5) bigger front disk from the RTR
    6) Clip ons from P180 UG4
    7) A BIG rear sprocket for pick and wheelies bigger than the ZMA
    8) Instead of the stock pulsar headlamp wanna install 2 P220 low beam projectors like the triumph street triple
    9) The bike is already upjetted and has a K&N installed
    10) Aftermarket exhaust
    11) P135 Ls rear cowl and number plate holder with the tail lamp
    12) O- ring chain from the P 220
    13) Wanna increase the power of the engine porting or boring whatever is best please suggest how to do it and the risks involved.

    This is going to be my biggest project ever and will cost me a lot of money and time but after all these mods and paintjob this beast will be one of its kind.

    As you all know I recently got my new 220 wanna keep her stock for touring and wanna make my 180 wild for the streets of mumbai!!!!!!!

    Experts please throw some light on the total estimated cost of this build and mods please approve it as this project means a lot to me!!!!!!

      hmm . . . quite big list of mods there. . .
      changing the electrical system to DC ... yes it can be done but time is involved more than money ..

      front can have a FZ tyre coz u need it more for street commuting and rear u can go with RTR 180 r15's

      rear disk brake can be installed but swing arm may effect the handling if wheelbase is different ... s/a would be costing around 2k

      yes the speedo meter may cost around 3-4k (NOT CONFIRMED) and regarding the led's yes it can be done wich wouldnt be costing much AFAIK

      bigger front disk front RTR includes changin the whole set which cost about 9k and check the mounting points of the calipers if they dont match thats another big pain in ass

      yes clip ons can be installed ..

      going for bigger rear sproket results in decrease in top end. Since u need it for streets increase with one or 2 tooth ... dont change much of the gearing ratio .. !!

      i dont have idea about the cost of the projectors.. i havent seen them on pulsar though ... but found many on unicorn ...

      after market exhaust can be installed but ask for performance than sound ... check it with a good performance tuner and get it done ... it shud be costing around 3k for a good one

      i dont know the cost of the number plate holder but yes it can be fitted on a pulsar

      if u totally want to increase the power than go with porting but see to that it i being done by an expert or it could result in drastic decrease in power ....
      boring involves lot of mechanism dont go for it it may ruin ur engine i dont even advice with porting untill its being done by a expert ...

          What if I completely change the stock wiring with the 180 UG4 and the RR unit BCU as I want to install a 220 DTS-i carb

          2.5 for the speedo + led expense anyone from mumbai can help me with the LED mod please

          got a cheap solution cut the extra 10 mm and its a ready fit

          Hey guys can anyone please help me I want to know how much cost is involved in assembling a brand new P220 DTS-i engine and can it be mounted on a P180 chasis my budget is 25 k with the labours. If i go for my engine mods I will anyways spend 12-15 k so why not assemble a 220 engine and dump it on my street 180 !!!!!!

            With budget of 25k, it is very much possible to plonk in a completely new 220 engine.. Just get it done with an expert, AFAIK, me_is_rossi , our fellow xbhpian has already plonked complete engine setup of P200 on a p180 ug3. so P220 engine plonking will also be similar.. PM him for details.

              But am confused now majority of the people said that assembling a 220F engine would easily cost 35 K so I decided to bore the 180 to the max and port it. Am gonna start the project in a week and need to make a concrete decision. please if possible can anyone confirm this and also how can be this done in mumbai and also the best place to go for this !!!!

                    guys latest update a few days back the bike was stolen from mira road. I had given it to one of my friends for a couple of days and after that we launched a FIR at the kanakia police station. And guess what a cop came all the way from borivali to my shop inquiring about me. The bike was found. I have seen the bike at the police station handle lock broken reg no tampered. And all the wires were loose.

                    Will get the bike back on thursday what a relief!!!!!! Time to start the project with a new energy and josh, keep your expert suggestions coming in guys i desperately need them to make this bike into a one of its kind..

                          thanks a ton buddy i respect your suggestion but as i mentioned earlier. I want to build my own custom bike and if I say 40 K doesnt mean I will spend the whole 40 K for sure. I mean thats the max I can go so lets See
