  • Request:Tappet setting

I wanted to know how to set the tappets on a Bajaj Boxer AT and the Pulsar 180DTS-i UG3. A DIY thread would be very helpful.

Its there in the Service manual for the P180 UG3 available at http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...df-format.html

But you need special tools. Feeler Gauge 0.01~1mm, Tappet Holder, Valve Adjusting Screw Holder. Not sure if these are available in the market. Plus im not sure its a DIY thing unless you are an experienced person.

here a guide for car, but for bikes its nearly the same. ill see if i can find more information. or will take pics the next time tappets on my R15 are being adjusted.

edit - found something for the splendor type engine, but when you open the head of the bike, its pretty much the same.

Something for ninja owners as well -

Ok, so I've checked my valve clearances and the exhaust valves are all too tight. To adjust this it's not as simple as with OHV engines and you have to remove the cams. To accomplish THIS: Step 1 - Remove the CCT Remove the 10mm center bolt in the Camshaft Chain Tensioner. Then remove the (2)...
