    the nail polish remover is a strong thinner. Don't use it more. Use petrol mildly and then if needed use wax polish.

      Most importantly, note to self and to all tourers, don't use cheap scotch tape. Use the original one from 3m costing 70-80rs than using 30-40rs local one. It will be a lot cheaper in the long run!

        adhesive residue

        You have to use a petroleum solvent that has a very low aromatic content and a quick evaporation time so that it cleans but does not attack the paint film. Kerosene will work but because of its non-drying nature will tend to leave a residue. IPA is not a good solvent for tape adhesive . IPA will tend to act as a solvent that will attack and perhaps cloud the gloss.
        If you are in Pune , I will give you a special solvent based cleaner that will do the job in a jiffy without any damage to the paint film , just mail me your contact details.
