So we can use the GB sprocket and chain from Pulsar without any modifications, just retain the rear Shogun sprocket. That comes to 44/15=2.93 . I was just wondering about the situation if I use a RX 135 37 teeth sprocket at the rear along with the 15 GB pulsar sprocket, what will be the effect!! That is 37/15=2.46 . I dont know how the bike is going to pull, but definitely it will go on and on.......in every gear

I heard my mechanic warning bout compatibility of chains with sprockets. There is a reason why Chain & Sprocket come as a set. The rack of the sprocket should be an ideal fit in between two consecutive rollers. Otherwise it will result in early wear out of sprockets.
      Quick Gun Shogun !

Karthik, which part of Chennai are you from? Do you know any good Shogun mechanics in Chennai? Especially for the alterations

I reside in Ambattur bro. I let my Shogun for servicing to a mechanic in Porur named Antony. He's been quite good enough to transform my Shogun into a 5-speed version. What alterations are you considering for your Shogun ?

I am from Nanmangalam, near Chromepet/Velachery. What were the parts needed for the 4 speed to 5 speed conversion? Is the Shaolin gearbox available?

              Guys,

Need your opinion on this sprocket configuration for Shogun; 16/34 from the RX135 . What will be the effects on acceleration and topend. Also, will the wear and tear of the sprockets increase?

One of my friends suggested the 17/36 of Bajaj M80. Any opinions here ?

My basic requirement is I would like to cruise in around 70-80 kmph at 5000 or lesser rpm !

I'm extremely late to this party but I am here with the same question on Shogun sprocket change after going for a 16" rear wheel.

Considering we get increased acceleration with smaller rear wheel, how much acceleration do we lose on installing a compatible 14 teeth GB sprocket; will it be very similar to the stock acceleration again or does it go further down?

Also, how much does the top speed increase with taller gearing?
