Mods.... I am not sure about but I met one fella with same issue at PBK. After getting heated for abt 5-6mins the exhaust was leaking from the bottom of the swingarm-silencer joint. Just check if there is any black moss on the joints of silencer else try to sense if the silencer is leaking anywhere by running around your palm when in idling. Hope it helps.

there is no smoke leakage...i checked...what are other possibilities??

..after my bike was left unclean for 4-5 days..it showed smoke stains on the exterior of the exhaust...where the exhaust becomes thick..at that part...how could i remedy it...can the exhaust be repaired?

hello friends...back after exams...now i have removed the k&n and returned to stock jets...no mods whatsoever...but after a day or two..the vibrating noise returned...please friends could anyone suggest any solution???

Either one of the multiple wire gauze is broken or the exhaust pipe is bent/cracked. Take it to a local mechanic. He will open up the bottom end of the silencer, weld the affected area and then weld the outer cover back.

New silencers cost a bomb!

Changing the filters and jets got nothing to do with it.

It happened with my p200 twice. first time I changed the exhaust under warranty. It Ran okay for 4-5 kms but than one day, while riding from office to home I took an offroad shortcut, coz road was blocked for maintainance. Exhaust got a small hit by a brick from below. It was a minor hit so I didn't bother. But few days after exhaust started making that noise again.

It happens becouse there are two concentered pipes connecting exhaust-tec to the end can, may be to suppress noice effectively. So if inner pipe's welding gets damaged. it starts vibrating and makes that irritating noise.

The best solution of this is replacement with new one.

Or you can cut the exhaust in three pieces. ( look in the pic )

first cutting point -> from where the exhaust tec ends (there will be a joint) .
Secont cutting point -> near the endcan

pull inner pipe out from the center piece.

Now weld all pieces back together carefully with proper alignment.
put some matching silver paint on welded joints.
you can also weld an aftermarket end can instead of stock one like I did.

but I wont suggest you this one as this takes a lot of time and of course you'll need a very skillfull mechanic to do all this tedious work.

i am at good terms with the probiking guys..one of them told me to ride the bike for a few thousand more kms...and then he will try to get my silencer replaced again under warranty...i think that is a good idea..

P220 exhaust noise

Wanted DoA: bro, tht's a nice post with info. My bike is 3+years in age...so the parts warranty is also expired. Now, the Bajaj service mechanic is saying to replace this, a new one is reqd. That will cost me around 7 - 7.5K. So if I'm really gonna change it, why not any better after-market part? Do suggest me, if you know any better exhaust.

The method I followed, costed me Rs 2500. 2200 for the end can + 300 for welding & stuff. But dont go for it unless you are good at messing with stuff.
One more thing When looking for a end can, look for quality & see that its diameter isn't smaller than the pipe its gonna be welded to.
