  • Help me build a electric bicycle

guys i have a bicycle which i wanna turn it into a motor run thing, my idea is to turn it into self chargeable . First ill fit a motor to my front sprocket which is powered by a battery. then i am planning to connect the rear wheel to alternator which in turns charges the battery.. in this way i hope i can charge itself.
what i need is the technical thing, like power of motor[how much HP? volt? amp? etc] required to get 40 kmph speed for a 75 kg guy. battery specifications , voltage , amp etc ... just suggest abt this will this be possible i mean self charging.. seen lot of vds on youtube.. drop ur ideas
on 4 wheels u feel the speed after a crash, 2 wheelers are much more advanced

^^ you need a hub motor, with a sprocket assy attached to it. Best is to search for a electric bike conversion kit.

I think the best place to keep motor is the back carrier...and self charging is not possible...remember the law...energy can neither be created nor destroyed....
        best of luck

^^ i believe what he says by self charging is that when he pedals, it also charges the battery.

thnks for u suggestions guys... what i mean by self charging is while rear wheel is powered on hub it alos pulls a alternator which generates electricity taht again can charge the battery.. by the law of physics this seems to be difficult.. i wanna know if we go for such a setup what would be the problem and why cant it charge..

as jd666 has said you can charge battery from padelling...but charging from rotating wheel is not possible...that's because :
remember that the alternator transfers some amount of kinetic energy into tiny electrical energy...so its useless to charge your battery just from few rotations....to charge that battery you need something which rotates at 5000 or 6000 rpm
