    • here they come..

      hello guys.
i know that you may not be so interested or curious to see my working setup, but still i was dying to show it to all of you.

the bad part was that it rained before i clicked the pic, hence i didn't head to a highway, i clicked it just inside my complex.

please don't mind the locality, and the mess around here...

note:- all the pictures are clicked with engine OFF, to avoid vibrations, still battery didn't show any sign of dying..
and all the images are clicked WITHOUT flash...

this is my console, with lights off..

led's in the console in action....
and yes, see the scatter of HID inside which enlightens all the console.
its for my personal viewing pleasure, angel eye for console..

      this was the dark patch...

low beam switched on, camera not aligned properly, but notice the sides get more light (due to the holes in projector) which gives lesser light in the center.

low beam in action.. (full blown)

      low+high beam in action
      Hid low and halo high...

this is to show you guys the spread.
bike is stable at one place and 2 pics clicked on either sides.

      another example of spread.
bike is kept at side stand... with handle tilted sideways.
and i clicked sideways at the reflector level only, notice the reflector glass...
i bet its 170 degree spread.

      see towards it mates..
this is above cut off level.
it much lesser if seen in flesh, very comfortable to look at,

please ignore that stupid leakage on top of the projector..
      its silicon layer, painted over...

i know it looks damm ugly, even when off, but output is good i believe..

      now tell me....
is there anybody here who can beat this ??????

      just kidding mates....
you guys are Gods of lighting with better setups too.

and yes high beam hid will arrive tomorrow, so will upload then in action too...
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

        • Too much bling bling...get rid of those Blue LEDs and get white LED strip like the one seen in the Audis.

            • Thanks Shreeni for taking the time out to click some pictures & post it.

Now I am really tempted to go for a HID setup.

vishal, change the seal beam you have now to aglass one and use a bixenon hid 4300k,you will be happy bro,.

in my scorpio i am using one hid in a glass sealbeam and its more then enough even better then the stock lights, which are pretty good, its a scorp refresh mhawk.
there is a big chance you dont have to use hellas, the sealbeam(glass one) are that good.

                • my modification done, but not at all happy with it,the problem is with the high beam,
low beam is toooooooo good, but the high beam is really not at all up to my standerds, will revert back to my previous setting within few days....

                  well few things i learned,,

nothing can beat a round seal beam be it a multisurface one,be it a old amby type size 5.3/4 inch and above if properly focused on high beam,NOT EVEN A P 220 S HIGH BEAM,YES!!

for low beam the skoda projector what is nano is using is THE BEST,a p 220 s one is half the spread if compared to skoda but the intensity is a bit high in p 220s one.if the shed of p 220s can be removed it can almost work as an high beam, the concentration of light is a bit high in the center where in case of skodas one its equal.
if anyone needs good high beam on high ways ,please insist on 2 light sources as minimum,be it halogen,be it hids,2 is minimum,a single 90/100 is ok but the peripheral vision reduces a bit with 90/100 and thats a bit risky if the bike is doing 100+kmph on highway.

the stock reflector of pulsar 150/180/200/220 naked is good only if its used with halogens,it can take heat up to 55/60 halogen bulbs, not more then that,a better and cheaper option is avl if someone needs to use higher watt halogen bulb or want a better light spread also dont want to get rid of the fairing..
a dcm toyota sealbeam 5.3/4 inch is direct fit inside the ug2-ug3 dome, yes, just push it back all the way in ,the leveling is done as default is well enough for city and highway ride.

                    • i got my HID HIGH BEAM installed, and guys.......
                      you have seen nothing yet.....

it took me almost the whole day to do it and i reached home right now...
i will prove you wrong DOC, p220's high beam with hid is lethal.
it puts my low beam to shame, trust me.

I'll upload the pics soon, maybe tomorrow

i came home in very very heavy rain and light didn't reflect at all of the high beam.

1 more thing that i came across was that the light of the projector is not good for rains, as it gets reflected a lot and barely anything can be seen on the road.
i believe the lens in my projector is polarized as i know some projectors have polarized lens.

but glare of high beam is unbearable... (please don't kill me sajit)

                      NOTE:-
i checked the amps with both the beams ON, and at Higher revs its -2.3 amps
i honked also with both beams on and it sounded like a scooty... (very dim)

when i was riding with it at heavy rains (which means slow), all the time with both beams slowly my horn started honking louder !!!

                      was the battery getting charged?
that's strange with -2.3 amps, but I'll follow an old school method and use both ON for some days.... and realize the condition of the battery...

wait patiently for the pics guys...

and THANKS to NAVNISH for sending me a one of a kind RELAY which has a fuse in the wiring and its direct plug and play, although it took me a very long time to get it working right, as my low beam wire/ high beam wire in the OEM headlight socket is reversed...

a very special thanks to all of you guys who made a poor soul, a lighting maniac today.

and thanks a lot for appreciating my pics guys...
it would have never been possible without you all.

                      • Congrats Nano
Yes even I don't agree with Doky in this point. P220's high beam lens is a lethal weapon with HID's in them. The throw is straight like SEARCH LIGHT. No loss of light. Just point it exactly where you want. And one more thing, smaller the reflector size, higher the glare. Try a HID in small Autopal Spot light, they are lasers.

                        Comment

                        • you guys got me all wrong,i never said p 220s high beam reflector is bad.its just that the pattern changes.
when we use a halogen bulb in p 220 high beam reflector,it produces a nice rectangular light, but the scenario changes when we put hid in them,it produces more or less round light which is at least twice bigger in diameter then halo, this is why the intensity is lost a bit.i tried to focus it but the hid wanted to go a bit in which was not possible in full plastic body reflector.

please prove me wrong nano,i will be the most happiest person .may be my reflector of p 220s one is a bit much damaged and thus producing this result, may be a new one will produce good result.

what i felt that a properly focussed hid in a dcm toyota 5.3/4 inch seal beam with hid produces exactly rectangular light output, just like a stock p 220s highbeam in halo, but as this is hid the intensity is tooooo high and can work for 1-1.5 kms straight as a high beam.

nano if you are happy with p 220s high with hid please put up pics of its throw on a wall eg... like place the bike 5-8 feet from a wall ,and take the pic.

if this works we have the ans for high beam as an aux set up also..
we can just stick the p 220s reflector in a metal/platic body spot lamps and use it as a high beam ,

                          • I'll upload the pics soon doc.
i understand what you are trying to say...

even i agree, that with halogen, its more focused on a smaller part, but with HID, its much more spread, still does very well doc.
it is still better and goes very long and BRIGHT.
i really don't think 2 of them is needed anyways.

my low beam is put to shame...
its been raining very heavily, i should find a ok ok dry patch and pics will follow.

                            • Dr. Its true that it gives more of round. And probably bit of intensity is lost. But don't u think ur becoming too much greedy Andhe ho kya

                                I'll be buying HID soon.
My stock reflector is not well angled. HB goes parallel to road. several times I have tried to adjust the screw located behind HL but the high beam doesn't seem to be descending on earth even the upper cut-off of lower beam is going parallel too. Anyways if I put an HID in HL it will give white nightmares to on-comers.

So should I adjust that reflector or get the sealbeam you have mentioned above instead? I generally don't use HB and if I do buy HID it's going to be 4300K so I think there won't be glare problem if I stick to properly angled reflector.

Can we use this Toyota Sealbeam without the glass comes with it ? (meaning only reflector thing). I think it will fit in ug4 too because they have same dome.

My whole HL assembly shaking badly over potholes...gotta fix that too...but I have no idea how to do that...SC guy said I have to change lampshade

                                one more thing

It's your bike remember ...I have same focus in LB with stock (offcourse less intense). If you observe closely you will see it's not symmetrical and kinda looks inclined towards left. Is it happening because the HL is not 100% straight? or it's suppose to look like this and it's same with aaaalll pulsars. I'm asking this because I already bothered SC guys too much over this thing till they started avoiding me.
