I have a black Pulsar 135, that's done about 950 kms. The bike is great, with a very good engine that delivers excellent performance for it's size.
However, I've been having a problem with the self of late. If I leave the bike switched off for, about 30 mins or more, and then if I use self, the display goes blank (except the Neutral indicator), then the self check happens (speedo self check only, tacho doesn't move), and the display comes back to normal, but the trip meter gets reset. The vehicles starts when the display changes from the blank state to the reset state.
Yesterday, the bike didn't start, even after multiple presses. The display was going blank, and there were failed cranks. I kick started it, rode for about 1 km, switched it off, used self, and it worked.
What could be the issue? I also started the engine using self, and immediately turned on the headlights, and there was no flickering, thus possibly eliminating a dead battery.
Could it be a fault in the starting circuit? Blown capacitor or something? I remember reading someone with a similar fault in the apache owner's thread, but couldn't find it.
