I know macros doesn't quite allow us to be THAT creative as there is not much one can do with respect to the subject that we shoot, but still we can always work on it. Get closer and shoot. I don't have any idea about the Sony DSC cameras, but on my digital camera (the Canon Powershot S3 IS), it has a 'super macro' mode which gets me as close to the subject as I want. The lens, at times touches the subject but it still focuses, which is amazing really..

Inspite of getting the 100mm dedicated macro lens, I am still in love with my S3, which I extensively use for close up shots..
Got ur take on perspective I was trying that also, wanted to get sunlight refracting thru the dew drops....but cudnt get that.

i guess I need to upgrade to better cam

Not really. Every cam is good enough. Shoot as much as you can and you would surely get the desired result. Time and dedication - two things that every activity needs.

Yea, but what to do if the cam doesn't focus after particular range?

Then choose a bigger subject which will let us - the viewers see the minute details.. Perhaps a big bug could be of some help here..

                            • Thanks Praveen,

I did sharpen them but any more & they would look a bit odd so I didnt sharpen further , btw all these were takeng on eith Auto or scenary mode, no manual settings

I somehow feel they look better here

Btw Nice pics especially the halo one

Btw i just sharpened 1 of your images to 5 points using FastStone. Me thinks the pic can take this much sharpening or a tad less. Guess experienced ppl here may give a say
