@anvancy: comeon you should identify Fuji colors

. Not ventured into DSLR yet

As you can see there is not much feather detail when you crop 100%. I might got the habit of pixel peeping

. I may go to vedanthangal (bird santuary) next month hence i am worried abt the tele-end.
settings used: sharpening : medium
6mp fine mode

Can you check with some bird shots at full tele.

i thought for a moment but was not very sure.

even if it is 100% crop i personally like it.atleast there is something better than nothing

..

and our camera produces results best when multi mode used.

Yes forgot to tell that AF set to Multi. But center should equally work well but not in the case of fuji

Just checked the difference between 100% crop and 50% crop & resize and the results are worth noting.
cropped 50%

i noticed some differences between multi and center..i always shoot on multi since i think they give better sharpness.

Shot this in the late evening at valparai. The way it looked at us created anxiety and we are barely 15 feet away inside the car. Hands were shaky just one came with reasonable sharpness out of 5

Is this the right thread to be asking this question? If yes, then can i also bother you with ' Are the above mentioned cameras the right way to go for an amateur or would you have any other suggestions like the Nikon D40x? '

@slayer: i too am a newbie but was going in for a cam. by what i heard, H50 battery aint that great and S5 IS is a better deal. S10 no idea.
let the pros come in ... i too had same queries so lets wait...
