For a batch of images, click: File -> Batch -> Image Processor -> give the source folder and destination folder and dimensions.

guys, i need some help, can someone give some tip regarding, how to click good images in foggy conditions, coz if flash is used it creates circles in images and if flash is not used, still the pic doesn't come out good.

Increasing the timing , that is allow the lens to be open for some time. I do it in my mobile using a camera application. In DSLR's you are actually allowed to do that. What happens is the more you open allow the lens to be open it captures more of light , the lens of a camera acts just like our eyes. So it allows you to keep the beauty of photo without using flash in dark.

Though not qualified enough to recommend anything, but all you need is a tripod.

Mount your HX 100V on it and turn the flash off (manual mode). Increase the shutter speed to >2 seconds and enjoy the pics to glory.
For a typical foggy hill station like Ooty, the following setting were used by me (most of the time) and you can use it as a reference.

Manual mode (M on the jog dial)
ISO - 100 to 200 depending upon the scenery.
S - 3 sec or more
F - 5.6 was most often used, but you can play around. (in case of darker conditions, you may try 3.5 too)

When you hit the shutter release button of your camera a hole opens up that allows your cameras image sensor to catch a glimpse of the scene you’re wanting to capture. The aperture that you set impacts the size of that hole. The larger the hole the more light that gets in – the smaller the hole the less light.

Aperture is measured in ‘f-stops’. You’ll often see them referred to as f/number – for example f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6,f/8,f/22 etc. Moving from one f-stop to the next doubles or halves the size of the amount of opening in your lens (and the amount of light getting through). A change in shutter speed from one stop to the next doubles or halves the amount of light that gets in also – this means if you increase one and decrease the other you let the same amount of light in.

Thats nice bro. I would like to share some more info regarding aperture settings, kindly correct me if I am wrong:

When we refer to a "small" aperture, the relevant f-stop will be a bigger number. Therefore, f22 is a small aperture, whereas f1.4 is a large aperture. It's extremely confusing and illogical for most people as the whole system appears to be back to front! What we need to remember is that, at f1.4, the lenses iris will be wide open and allowing a lot of light through. Therefore, it is a large aperture.


Another way to help remember this is to recognize that aperture actually relates to an equation where focal length is divided by aperture diameter. For example, if we have a 50mm lens and the iris is wide open, we might have a hole that measures 25mm in diameter. Therefore, 50mm divided by 25mm equals 2. This translates to a f-stop of f2. If the aperture is smaller (for example 3mm) then dividing 50 by 3 gives us a f-stop of f16.

Changing apertures is referred to as "stopping down" (if you are making your aperture smaller), or "opening up" (if you are making your aperture larger).

so basically i have to play around with either slow shutter speed or larger aperture.

yes divya, i have the same sony dsc hs-100v/b, but it has manual settings.

the problem is i dont have a tripod, and i dont wanna use a tripod... its just too bulky to carry around on bike with wife and luggage.

so in the absence of a tripod, i suppose too slow shutter speed is not possible, so what remains is aperture size..

am i correct.

Yes bro you can try and fiddle with aperture. Even if you are not carrying a tripod you can try as suggested by Divya.
